Lots of good deals on cheap at,MT and hybrid tires on eBay and Amazon. Anyone using them, I have a new project 2004 Tacoma Regular cab that I’m going to use to and from work and hunt in. Any feedback would be awesome, the prices are amazing.

Be careful buying cheap tires, I’ve had some bad luck buying ones made overseas. I’ve also learned with tires, you get what you pay for.

I bought some Nexen Rodian tires off Amazon for $100 each. They had good ratings that were helpful when I sold them roughly 300 miles later.

After it was all said and done, I went with some Michelins from @Discount Tire. The impressive thing about Discount Tire is the "after the sale" support you get if something doesn't go right. There is nothing worse than being stuck with some tires you don't like or can't use that were purchased from an eBay or Amazon.

I buy a lot of things from eBay and Amazon. But I keep the purchases at a price point where I can afford to lose the money if the product doesn't work out.

You sold the Nexen Rodians just a few hundred miles later? Not what you expected? Or?

A combination of not liking the width, outer diameter, and I was having all kinds of problems getting a good balance.

Not only cheap out on tires, but auto parts, and tools. I've had a mechanic install aftermarket, remanufactured alternators in my truck that failed in over a year and left me stranded on the road with a drained battery or having to drive home with a booster pack attached to my battery to make it home (Yikes!!). I stopped going to that mechanics shop, went to a new mechanic who's knowledgable about Toyotas, and requested a new Denso alternator which costed more, but has been reliable with a warranty. I cannot stop any of you from buying cheap tires, auto parts, or tools. Cheap tires, auto parts, or tools will only break, are unreliable, poor quality, and will leave you with mechanical failure & an empty wallet. My experiences of having 2 remanufactured alternators installed by my previous mechanic (both failed in over a year with a warranty) leaving me stranded on the side of the road is an unpleasant experience.

I agree that after purchase support is a big factor when buying tires.

I try not to buy from Amazon in general. The local tire guys might be more expensive but they’re also there when you have a problem. Also supporting local business...all that important stuff

I was able to purchase 4 tires 215/70 r15 Sentury brand with warranty for less than $300. They seem to work great for my 2w '03.
