Hey guys, just wanted to share a new product I am manufacturing for our trucks. I’ve been a product designer in the Aftermarket and in Motorsports for the past 15 years. I’ve sold a bunch of these to Tundra owners, and they fit Tacoma’s too. These have been installed on 1st and 3rd gen Tacos, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t fit a 2nd gen too. Here’s all the info:

    Sold in pairs ($89/pair)
    Ships FREE within the US

    • Application: 2011-2022 Toyota Tacoma (uses one pair, or two Bed Tie Down Anchors) Have also been installed on 1st Gen Tacoma
    • Application: 2007-2022 Toyota Tundra (uses two pairs, or four Bed Tie Down Anchors)
    • Machined 6061-T6, anodized, engraved with logo and torque spec
    • Includes corrosion resistant, Grade 8.8 mounting hardware
    • Replaces stock steel tie-down points that are prone to scratching and rusting
    • Multiple methods for attaching ratchet straps, bungee cords, or rope
    • Radius on inside to avoid cutting straps and ropes
    • Center slot retains tie down straps
    • T40 Torx bit required to remove the stock bolts
    • M6 Hex bit required to install the new hardware
    • Designed and Manufactured in the USA
    • Patent Pending
    • $89/pair with free shipping
Please visit my site to order: www.billettiedowns.com

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The torque spec has been decreased to 20 lb/ft. If you purchased Anchors that are engraved with the 25 lb/ft specification, please note this has been superseded.

And why would you want these fancy new Tie-Downs?? Well this is what mine looked like, and eventually yours probably will too.

Besides looking way better than stock, my Tie-Downs also add functionality with more ways to attach ratchet straps, and a center slot that does a much better job retaining the hook so it doesn’t fall out before you tighten the ratchet strap, something that used to drive me nuts!

Thanks for looking guys, hit me with any questions you might have!

Interesting, my 06 taco doesn't have any provision for these in the bed. I'll have to look into drilling/tapping if necessary.

Thanks for the info, I need to see if any 2nd gens have the holes for these anchors at the front of the bed. If not, you could drill holes and use a fender washer with a nut behind it if there’s access.

It's pouring rain at the moment, but I'll post a picture of the inside corners of my bed when it clears up. Worth noting I'm in a 2wd regular cab base model. Possibly higher trims had them? :notsure:

Just to clarify, it sounds like 2nd gens do not come with front tie-down anchors. So if you order for a 2nd gen please let me know and I will provide fender washers and nuts, then you can drill holes and bolt them in. I’ve had several customers successfully install them this way, just make sure you have access to the back side of the bed where you choose to install them.

From what I have seen with 2nd gen is; 2005-2011 dont have the front bed tiedowns, but they added them with the facelift later on (2012-2014).

I wonder what the best place to put these is if you have bed stiffeners (already adds a tie down point in that area of the bed)

If it were my truck I would drill holes at the front of the bed and install them there to have some tie-down points up front.

So this is what my 06 regular cab base model has at the back of the bed for tie downs. I know the three self tapped hook things aren't factory (previous owner) but I also don't see anywhere to mount these. I'm all for the fender washer and bolt trick, but it may be difficult to get in there to do so. I'll have to explore further when I have it up on jacks this weekend. 9219D299-05F4-4818-A6AA-C760D3EABB07.jpg

So what's the weight capacity / load stress test before the billet fails? I feel like the stock steel loops will bend before breaking, whereas these will just break apart.

EDIT: I have a 2015, which has OEM steel loops at the front of my bed.

Those definitely don’t look stock. Let me know if you have a spot to mount these with access to the back so you can put a washer and nut behind it.

Fair question! I don’t advertise a rating, but rather advise the customer to not exceed the factory rating of their truck. Here’s why, I ran FEA along with physical testing before I offered these for sale to make sure I wasn’t selling something that would fail. I bought a 2000 lb strain gauge and tested the stock steel anchor along with my billet version and both maxed out the gauge and never failed. The stock anchor did bend more and lift off the mounting surface, showing that my billet part is more rigid with its beefier construction and larger footprint. But here’s the thing, if you put a ratchet strap between two of the anchors in your bed you will see that the sheetmetal bedside starts bending in way before either anchor would ever fail. So you have to consider the entire system, these billet tie-down anchors don’t add more load carrying capacity to your truck. They do add aesthetic appeal and more utility with the multiple methods to attach a ratchet strap, bungee, rope etc. Hope that answers your question!

I have new inventory coming in next week. Please visit my site to order: www.billettiedowns.com

As a reminder to the 2nd gen guys, please tell me it's a 2nd gen so I an include nuts and washers. You will need to drill holes where you want to mount them.
