ok guys, help me out here. I've done everything exactly as stated in the manuel and I can't get this thing to work. Any secrets to getting photos uploaded for the startup/display off screens?

So far I've created two folders on an empty thumb drive labled:

    StartupImage
    DisplayOffImage

I've ensured that the file is saved as a .jpg AND tried multiple screen sizes.

    Ideas?

do you have only one photo in the folder? Could try changing file name to match folder.

Yes just 1 picture, I'll try that but the Manuel says that the image can be named anything up to 32 characters. right now I've just been using IMAGE1

Wondering if there is a very specific resolution size needed for this (nothing in the manual)? I've tried a variety so far

    Your folder names MUST be:

    StartUpImage

    DisplayOffImage

    UPDATE:

    I got it to work.

    Folder names are:
    StartupImage
    DisplayOffImage

and image must be at least 1600x1143. which then worked but had black on both sides of the image. To get rid of the black I edited the image using windows photo viewer (didn't even know you could do that) to 16:9 aspect ratio and vawla!
(sorry about the poor image quality.. did this in my dark garage and flash just put a giant light over the screen :)

Looks like it just won't work on the SR models. There is no menu option for changing those screens.

My start up screen image displays for 1 second, before the warning screen overrides it. Kind of sucks.... Wish it was longer.

Is there a way to change the timer on the picture? I would like it up longer than what it is now.

I dont believe so no. Short of using the same image for the screen off image I dont think there is a way to get the start up image to last longer :(

Maybe someone else knows if it's possible but I haven't been able to find anything

Some crap teenage me would have done. Or Shakira.

Side note: I'll actually try the pic change later today, though not with either of the above lol

Edit: doesn't work on 2020s. Damn.

Trying to do this on my 2019 and when I press “transfer” it gives me an error message saying it can’t read the usb device and to make sure it’s connected properly.

I’ve tried with two separate flash drives. Both formatted correctly. Folders named StartupImage and DisplayOffImage, but it keeps saying it can’t read the flash drives. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hmm... can you play music from the flash drives? Are they formatted as Fat32 ?

I use the same flash drive that my music is on.

I haven’t tried music or anything I use Bluetooth from my phone for that, but I’ll give it a try just to see. They are formatted Fat32, yes

So I tried playing music off the flash drive and nothing. When I go to the audio source selection screen the usb option is grayed out as if there’s no flash drive plugged in at all. Funny because the flash drive has a green indicator light on it that flashes when it’s plugged in so the port must be working fine or at least delivering power. Confusing...
