My truck is a 1999 Tacoma 3.4L, I recently changed my timing belt, water pump, camshaft and crankshaft seals. Truck runs good, the oil leaks I had were gone but recently its been dumping oil out and I think the crankshaft seal popped out. I did notice when I was seating the new seal it went in very easy, too easy like I could almost seat it just by pushing with my fingers. So that's led me to believe where the seal seats on the oil pump is messed up, either whoever replaced it last messed up the surface while removing it or it expanded.

I bought the new oil pump, o-ring, pickup gasket and bolts I'll put a new gasket on the oil pan as well. The reason I'm here is I haven't seen a lot of information on this repair online and was hoping that someone who has done this job before or knows about it could give me some tips or information about it. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Thank you but I don't think this will work in my situation. I'm pretty sure the crankshaft seal has completely popped out of the oil pump

Hope you’re able to find a remedy. Why don’t you post this in the 1st Gen Tacoma section under the Forum tab at the top of this page. You’ll likely get greater visibility and hopefully a much quicker response.
