@Squeaky Penguin had one for a while and foolishly removed it. I plan to get a saw and incorporate a more not for it this summer.

I spent a hour with a gas saw yesterday clearing just one bundle of about 8 trees (see my ig on #timelapsetuesday), it used close to a tank. I wonder how much battery you would have left if it completed the task, and would you have anything left for the 4 trees just walking distance beyond it that were bigger? Lots of truck tracks made a u-turn at this bundle of trees, I guess that was a option...

I have one in my bed for transport, but I want to incorporate on into my new bumper that is on its way. So once it is out on the trail I dont have to put it back into the bed for the next tree around the corner.

I might reevaluate the situation soon and figure out how to get it back on the swingout. Getting in to trail clearing season.

Cut two dozen trees off the trail riding the motorcycle yesterday.

Ha, "Oh shit kit". That's a massive tree. Typically the once I'm coming across are 12" or less, though occasionally some bigger ones.
Yeah, I try and bring everything that I think I might need to get unstuck or to clear the trail/road if needed.
The chainsaw is just tricky with the chain oil, not something I want to get all over the rest of my gear.

    What's in your OSK?

I'm going to fab up a gas can holder this week, and might integrate the saw scabbard into the side of it. Haven't checked dimensions yet though.

I think this is the most practical means to carry a saw. I've got a spare one of those flap type boxes floating around, I might try rigging this up this weekend.

    Thanks for the info.

My Husqvarna chainsaw leaks bar oil like nobody's business. Even when I have it in it's case, it spills out the side leaving an oil spot anywhere I sit it. For that reason, I rarely carry my chainsaw in my truck except for when I really need to use it.

Try laying it on its side. My Husky 51 does the same thing if you store it upright. But if you lay it on its side, no problems.
