Looking to buy a topper for my 2013 DCSB TX Pro. Was told today that Century and Leer are essentially the same and are even made in the same factory. Century is quite a bit cheaper but I've never seen one on a truck like mine. Curious if anyone has gone with Century and looking for pics. Thanks in advance.

Really, no one has a century topper on here? Hard to imagine. Thanks for looking anyway.

I was just about to order a Century, quoted in the neighborhood of $1250 + whatever options I'd add but then I found this one on CL....... picked it up today, it's a Leer.

1250 is pretty damn good, why is it always more expensive in MT? Supposedly Leer and Century are one in the same. Wish CL had some good options around here!

Just got home and found the quote for the Century, $1245 + tax for the Ultra. Options would be on top of that. I ended up driving 350 +/- one way to pick up the used Leer. Keep looking, they're out there. Took me a year of searching.

Big Sky, there is a fantastic deal for a Century Topper here on Tacomaworld. I almost made the trip to buy it, the owner is in Evans GA (goes by name Tacomitron). He's selling a loaded topper for $700 (rack and all kinds of goodies) and also a Baja Rack for $400. If you buy both he'll let you walk away for $1000. I priced out repainting it with my local Maaco and it will cos tme $625. I'm now "debating" on that or a new.

Here is the one that came with mine. I don't know the model looks like the ultra, still looks really nice on the truck.

Looks great man, thanks for posting the pics! This is the only pics of a century on our trucks (that I can identify for sure).

That's a hell of a long ways from MT! Would definitely be worth the trip if I lived a little closer (and didn't have to work, or take care of kids...)

Guys, I broke down today after spending hours with the Leer and Century dealers here in VA. I tend to be a researchaholic for just about everything I buy. The versatility, beauty, and functionality for the Leer 100XQ with its' tip out side windows that are frameless , along with the frameless rear window and hidden hinges "sold me". I then splurged on some of the options I felt essential for my big upcoming move to Alaska where I know I'll get my money's worth for the 4,000+ trek I'm making to get there (northern Alaska) and the time I'll spend in the wilderness for the 2-years the Army has me there. I ordered the matching magnetic grey metallic, it comes standard with the interior headliner/LED dome light, and I added three options: 1) a removable front slider window, 2) Thule Tracker II roof rack with locks, and for all of us Tacoma owners 3) a tail gate lock (that I upgraded to electronic to go with my remote) that will still accomodate the rear camera. The price tag out the door with a Leer $125 coupon was $2,833. It arrives in two weeks, I'll post some photos when that 'gem' is on my taco!

Good luck with the shell. You'll love Alaska. Been there 5 times and can't wait to get back there again.

Thanks for the pic! Whats with the windoors not matching up to the cutout? Seems like someone mentioned this somewhere else but I've not actually seen it until now. Was looking at the Leer and Century catalogs side by side last night and they are exactly the same, as a matter of fact the truck is the same in both just with different company logos. For me, the difference is over $200 bucks so opting for the Century although I haven't decided Ultra vs. Ultra sport.

Here's a few pics of my century. It's was a bit cheaper and has been great. Don't have much to compose it too, but I'm very pleased with it. Windoors, fold down removable front window, liner, led lights.image.jpgimage.jpg

Big Sky, the guys at the dealership told me that Leer actually bought out Century a couple years ago. Explains the similarities between the Century Ultra Sport and the Leer 100XL. Century does not have the equivalent to the 100XQ with the flush all glass side and back windows (no weather molding/frame or twist out capability). Leer is the only one that offers that at this time. $200 difference between 100XL and XQ which is almost overcome because the 100XQ already has a headliner built in standard.

OP, make sure whatever you go with, get the windoors..you will regret not getting them after about a month of having to climb in and out of the bed every single time you need something. Here my LEER:

I'm trying to decide between century ultra/ultra sport and the Leer 100R/XR. The ultra and 100 are identical as well as the ultra sport and XR. The catalogs have the exact same pics of the same trucks, just different backgrounds!
