Currently deployed but will be purchasing a 2018 DCSB OR AT as soon as I get back in a few months. Only thing I haven’t decided on yet is color- I keep on going back and forth between magnetic gray and cement. Which color is better for longevity (hiding dirt/scratches/swirls, matching paint for touch-ups)? Also, which is a better color in general in y’alls opinion and why?

Anything with a lot of metallic flake will be a pain to repair scratches.

Cement would probably be easier to keep clean

I agree. Cement would be easier to keep clean. But when the sun hits that metallic flake in the MGM all reason goes out the window. lol I just absolutely love the MGM with the right black accent accessories.

Cement easier to keep clean. MGM looks awesome when babied and waxed but gets dirty about as easily as most black paint. Cement takes a lot to "look" dirty and being a flat color I can only imagine much easier for touch-ups and the like. I stick with Silver on most of my vehicles b/c of all the colors I feel silver hides dirt the best and shines up real easy. But with the metallic flakes it does take some work to get things patched up...

So I read in another thread that cement actually has a pearl or metallic flake in it so it’s not truly “flat.” I don’t know how true that is or if that would factor into the longevity of the paint at all.

MGM I remember from a few posts had some paint mismatched between door and fender panels. In different light angles looked like the paint was not the same and uniform.

Cement will his the dirt a little longer then the mgm, but I prefer the darker color right from the start.
I drive dirt roads everyday so trying to keep clean or "hide" dirt is pointless to me.
I rinse off the salt in the creek crossing and hose whatever big chunks of mud are left.
Thank you for your service and good luck with your new truck.

I had a 17’ MGM and traded it in for my 18’ cement about three weeks ago, it still looks really clean even after a white christmas!

For a short bed it's a toss up.
But if it was a DCLB, the MGM just kills for some reason.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either Color, if Cement had been available when I got my truck l would have chosen it but am totally happy with MGM.

IMO, MGM looks better w/17" TRD black wheels, tint, and black emblems, if that's your thing. I was really wanting cement but worried that in a few years it might seem played out to me--same reason I shy'd away from inferno. Spend hours looking through the MGM and Cement color threads like I did.

Disagree. MGM holds AZ dust just fine and you can't tell it's dirty from far away.
