I think the problem is going to be that there are raised lines dancing between the bolt holes that will have to be accounted for. At a glance, it may be tough to clear the ridges and still make the tailgate shut.

yes there aresome more tricky body lines to work around, but im sure something can be figured out!

After getting a look at a VOODOO bed rack mounting bracket I realized it had what I wanted for a CB antenna mount. The bracket was $45 each

I was looking to get a custom mount made but found this to work better.

    and here are the pics.

    20160629_211145.jpg

For the antena mount I used this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X3EP8M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and 2grade 8 bolts. For the top bolt I found a washer that fit inside the hole of the bracket to center the bolt.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UTQUAK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And an 18 foot fire ring cable.

WOW Melvin, VERY NICE work bro!!! What radio did you end up using and/or going with? Would be nice to meet-up some day for sure!!!

Btw, drink LOTS and LOTS of water bro for this coming weekend!!! Maybe "skinny dip" in some icy COLDA$$ water in some kiddy pool or something as well, LMAO!!! It's gonna be a scorcher for sure!!!

Also, is that a 3ftr??? Very nice. Were you able to "tune" as well?

After reading this thread I did some research and found this site with an antenna mount made explicitly for the Tacoma P/U: http://www.repdesign.us/gpage2.html

PS - all the installations I've seen in this thread look good!

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with that company in any way, shape, or form, just passing on some info that might be of interest.

Sup Randy, ended up getting the 520xl. As much as I love the cobra 29 LX it was just to big. Thank very much for your help and advice. Definitely we still have to meet up soon.image.jpg
