I'm 5'10.5". All Torso here (29" inseam), and the stupid moonroof SUCKS. I have about 3/4" headroom, so any shifting around (reaching for seatbelt, look out back window) and I touch the roof. The 6'4" dudes that say "no problem" are the guys with 36" inseams. I sit higher than they do. I'm gonna take the seat out, cut the brackets and mount them UNDER the rails to give me an inch or two. This is my PERFECT truck, and I love it. So I'm gonna make it work the hard way. I weld all the time, so I think I can make this work. Shame on Toyota for not letting us get tech/prem package without this MF moonroof. Useless.image.jpg

If you don't need the DC the AC comes with a Tech package and no sunroof.

It also depends on where you sit in the truck. If you move father back, a tall person will gain head room and be able to see out the front window better.

I sit way up on the wheel. I am 6 feet tall. I have rotated the center mirror 180 degrees and use it upside down so it touches the roof line

I'm 6'1" and just shy of 300#. I have tons of room in my AC. At least 2-3" of headroom. And where most cars I have to put the seat all the way back to have leg room, I actually have to move my taco's seat a little forward.

I know this is really about the moonroof, but I always look for how tall folks fit in different cars before buying. So, here are my two cents.

I'm 6'6", 230lbs, 36" inseam and have plenty of head and leg room in my 2016.

Dude I'd go see a doctor ASAP. Something is wrong with your head, its less than 3 inches tall!!!!

    Untitled.jpg

So now we have 2 choices:

    a) There is a guy with 3" tall head
    b) There is a guy whos full of shit on the internet.

    Hmmmmm.

I'm going go with B), full of shit, Bob.

I'll say it again. I'm 6'5 with a 34" inseam. There is plenty of headroom in my truck, no issue at all.

As for getting into it, I don't recall hitting my head a single time. That could be because I'm just used to subconsciously ducking when getting into any and all cars, but then that would mean that this truck is no different than others.

At the end of the day if you're 5'10 and complaining about a mid-size truck being too small for you, then get a full size. Just realize you're also fulfilling every short-man-syndrome stereotype on this planet lol.

LOL, you dipshit. It's not 3/4 to the moonroof slider that you measured. It's 3/4 to the lip around the moonroof. Ummm, duh.

i think it has alot to do with torso length and driving position. i just got done test driving a 16 im 6 foot 3. my head continuously skimmed the top near the rails of the moon roof. toyota dealer informed me that if i want an off road 4 door or any trd 4 door i will have to get a sun roof. does any one know if this is correct? what is strange is that another dealer wrote me up a build sheet with a guarenteed price of $35495 for a black four door off road without a sunroof but with navigation o i dont know what is true! i just want an off road 4 door! i can do without the heated seats and premium sound but i dont know if i can invest 38k on a truck thats gona break my neck when i go over a bump. no problems with my 2010 off road besides the fact i crashed it! i talked with an upholstery company they said they can take an inch of foam out of the drives seat for $140 bucks. but they are not willing to bolt the seats bracket rails to the floor wich would lower the seat height a solid 2.5 inches.

this is hilarious but its not an issue with the distance between our heads and the actual moon roof its an issue with the padding that covers the moon roof's rail just to the left of your head when seated. if you lean to the right a bit as i naturally do its fine. but when you turn to check your blind spot or look out the windo its right there messing with your head. i think its awesome you put all that effort into this picture though.. veeeery technical :jerkoff:

    None yet
You can get a 2016 TRD Off-road 4x4 without the moon roof. Will still have NAV but won't have heated seats, back up sensors, blind spot monitoring, etc. what he told you is incorrect. What I found out when I bought mine was that I already knew more than my dealer based on all the research I had done.

That is not true. You can get a double cab sport or offroad tacoma without moonroof. The stereo faceplate is still nicer than the sr5 one, but dont get the heated seats, jbl, blindspot, ect. I had considered this option myself, but decided perhaps it is just time for Tundra. Amount of room in the back for the kids justified the Tundra route as well.

boom! you guys rock, thats ecxactly what i want! @Superdave267 i got that same feeling. i felt like i was selling HIM the truck! i think that dealer just wanted me to buy that one in particular. i wont be going back there. now i just need to find one in a color i like. it seems like all the dealers in the north west just order ones with every single option possible!

no, and adding it would be worse. There was a thread on here about it.
Once you account for the motors and what not in the adjustability, it will actually be higher at its lowest setting than it is now.

I still have no clue how anyone over the average asian size of 5' 6" fits in a mazda RX7. Friend has one and I sat in it once, at 6' that thing was wayyyyyy too tiny.
I find with almost all japanese cars they have this same problem.
Germans have plenty of space though.

I wonder are all of these complaints from former truck owners?
I mean personally I test drove it and didn't find any issues at all getting in or out or just sitting in it and I'm 6'
Maybe its because I am used to it from my car, between being really low and needing to duck just to get in. So its not that bad. But thats pretty much all modern vehicles. they are a bitch to get in and out of.

They aren't putting adjustable seats in the Tacoma because the adjustable seats have higher seat bottoms than non-adjustable seats. The Tacoma cab is too short for adjustable seats.

I've said this many times and no one listens or no one cares. Several dealer workers I know were told this at the Tacoma press event in socal
