    Hello everyone,

I am in the market for a catalytic convertor and seen some that are 100% bolt on and others that are not.

Can someone here help me and give me reviews of some catalytic convertors people installed and how they like them.

I have found cat security and Cali raised led so far.

    thank you all in advance.

I have the Cat Security shield. It suggests drilling holes for Riv Nuts. It's not the end of the world.
I like it but I believe there is another product that is more robust from Talon that I had some regret not buying... however it's been on the truck now for over a year and it's been quite adequate and I haven't worried about it further.

Cali raised can't be beat for the price. Talons is nice but just to much in my opinion. You're just looking to encourage them to move onto the next car to pay for their drug fix. Just my 2 cents.

    None of the above.

Zero deductible comprehensive coverage is the only real solution, because none of those things are going to stop a thief. You'll just wind up paying twice.

There are at least four co-workers of mine that have had their Cats stolen during the business day. I have not lost a Cat on my Tacoma with my shield. It is good that we are sharing our varying opinions and thoughts on TW. Gives the OP and others lots of information to make their own decision.

I'd disagree here. I contacted my insurance and they said if I get the cat shield, they'd include it as a modification and cover the shield as well since it deters the theft, which would also be covered by comprehensive. So in the event a thief saws through my cat shield and steals my cats, everything would be covered including the shield. I'd check with your insurance coverage.

I ordered cali raised cat shield in November and still haven’t received it. How long did you have to wait for your cat shield?

This is a concern. Maybe I’ll go with another brand.

I'm happy with Talon's Garage. My truck is garaged at night but there are often overnights at assorted isolated boat ramps.

I'm in the SF East Bay area (not that it matters) and have the MillerCat installed. So far, so good.

I went with the TPFI cat shield, supposedly made in USA from a veteran-owned company. 1/8" aluminum plate. No complaints so far. Works with the TRD skid plate too. Sorry, don't have pics of it installed. Plenty of pics in the reviews on Amazon though.

Nothing will stop a determined thief. Car alarms, steering wheel clubs, shields, cameras, barking dogs, etc. It's all just deterrents. More crimes are crimes of opportunity, than crimes of planning. If this shield makes stealing my catalytic converter less-opportunistic than say, stealing the cats off the truck next to mine in the parking lot? Then so be it.
