Recently had cat(s) stolen from my 3rd gen SR5. I want full protection/coverage from thieves on my 2nd gen 2015 PreRunner (2wd/4 cylinder). What is everyone using on this specific model?

I saw that Talon only covers the front cat and not the rear one. Does anyone have a specific model that covers everything? Bonus points if it is steel. Read in another TW post that its not wise to put an aluminum shield on steel frame, although I think the OEM skid plates are aluminum?

I highly appreciate the ideas and will strongly consider them because you've basically read my mind about stalling to get something fabricated

I have seen Cat Security say they're working on a 4 cylinder shield but who knows how long it will take to come out. Definitely searching the market and seeing local fabricators but if not I'd come up with temporary solution so I'm not paranoid constantly now lol

Very nice! Wish I lived near you to get it installed. I'm in Texas. This is exactly what I need for my 2nd gen and I'm having a bit of trouble finding one for my 3rd gen 2.7L as well

Do those work with the five lug trucks?
If they do, what are you taking for those. I'm in the L.A area and would probably just pick up and install myself.

We actually have our rear cover in stock now. It might fit a 3rd gen. If you want to send me a message I can tell you what measurements I’ll need .

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.

I would just like to take this time to address this specific individual's effort on designing an anti-theft custom design shield against Catalytic Converter theft.

Recently my daughter, who lives in Los Angeles, had the Catalytic Convert stolen from her 2012 Tacoma PreRunner 2.7L from where she had it parked at where she lives.

After having to deal with the insurance, getting it replaced, etc. she was determined to find some sort of solution on deterring those idiot worthless thieve's from stealing it again from her vehicle. So she searched the internet and found out about this individual by viewing his video. Though during that time I came directly to Tacoma World and started my own search and also found out about this same individual.

I sent her the info about it all, etc. but come to find out she already knew about it all, etc. and told me she reached out and sent a message, etc. about having it done.

Anyway....after contacting him and setting up a time frame as to when this custom made Catalytic Converter anti-theft device could be made and installed on her vehicle, etc. she was determined to have it done.

Well last night she called and was just thrilled with the outcome of this particular custom made Catalytic Converter anti-theft device! She feels that it was money well worth spent and now has a bit more piece of mind knowing that she had it installed.

As her father I would personally like to say "Thank You" Matty G. ( aka Bronze Age Welder ) for helping my daughter! Both my wife and I are very, very grateful to you for not only offering a customized anti-theft device but also with the installation of it.

    I will second the above!
I had the pleasure to visit with Matt a couple of times since he had to fine tune my shield.

Just want to say Matt’s shield is solid and he did a great install on my 2015 Pre-Runner 6 lug. Thank you, Mando.

I just had Matt do an install for me on my 2011 Tacoma 2.7 5 lug. Nice guy. He even went out of his way to get my shield installed at 8 pm at night because he knows the feeling of not having your cats protected. I highly recommend his service if you’re in the SO CAL area.
