    Hey guys/gals.

Long story short, got a 2021 6cyl 15k miles. Been using Kirkland 0w20 full synthetic oil for 5, 10, 15k oil changes but I came up on some dirt cheap oil from Amazon. When I say cheap, I'm talking 1$ a quart type cheap. The trade off is that it's High Mileage 5W-20 Synthetic blend...

Money ain't an issue but I don't want to just put it on a shelf forever. I prefer to stick with what I have been using but thought I'd ask.

There is an SAE specification for every engine. Check your owners manual for minimum requirements. Oil that cheap may be a previous rating. You may not have a problem using this oil depending on the year your truck was built.
There are some oil experts on here. I am not one of them.

6 qts of 0W20 is cheaper than engine rebuild. Skip Starbucks a couple of times next week if money is tight.

I don't know if you read the last part, money's not the issue here.

You can run anything between 0w-20 up to 15w-40. This means anything in between. I run 0w-40 personally. I would stick with a full synthetic vs a blend. The oil chart is removed from the US owners manual due to CAFE, but it speaks to viscosity on page 546. Although in rather absurd language.

Regardless of if your truck will run on whatever viscosity, blend, full synthetic, cooking oil, whatever, I doubt the product advertised is what's in the bottle based on that price. Luckily since cost isn't an issue, stick with reasonably priced Kirkland. That is good oil. No need to take a chance since you don't have to.

You'll be fine, don't overthink it. I have Castrol in my truck right now. The gold jug.

Don't know if you remember the girls on The Price is Right stroking the the Castrol bottle, lol.

    It's all good, promise :)

5w20 wouldn't be an issue, but I would preferably stick to a full synthetic on the 3.5L considering the direct injection. I doubt two 5K oil changes with that is going to hurt anything though.

I wouldnt personally, but it would be fine for one 5k interval no issue.

I did read the post. I clarified for those who prioritize Starbucks over engine oil.

Gotta' agree... A full synthetic that cheap? My antenna would be going up instantly and I'd be giving it the serious side-eye.
And falling back on the tried and true 'There's no free lunch' and 'If it seems to good to be true, it usually is'.
I wouldn't worry about the viscosity of the oil, But rather '1 buck a quart? OK, what's wrong with this picture..'.

Oil debate aside - how the -bleep- did you find oil for $1 per quart?

There is no debate, there is either factual information vs uninformed opinion.
