Should have mentioned that Sport owners are out of luck...

 

Sport owners are not out of luck if they happen to have a roof rack, or RTT that can fit one of our solar panels!

Alternatively, many of our customers who had sport hoods traded them for a flat hood + got cash in the deal to help pay for some of the solar system

ps. we are trying to figure something out for the sport hoods, but the lack of useable flat surface area is a big issue.

 

I was almost one of those guys that was trying to get a sport hood for my offroad, until i saw a cascadia 4x4 solar panel on a taco in Canada while up there for work. I knew then i had to have it. That was 2019, ive had one since i got my taco new. One of if not the best upgrade to the truck. It’s proven it’s worth a few times while in the boonies and battery was run down. Just waited til sunrise and about the time it took to make breakfast and pack up my truck started fine.

A competitor has a 60 watt sport version I bought but haven't installed...guess try it n see if your version is better when it eventually comes out...I unfortunately have no alternate location to mount a bigger kit...softtop tent and knack racks on roof

 

Man, I’ve had this on my list for a while but have spent recklessly over the holiday sale season…but also I really want one and will get one eventually. Mark me down as committed as soon as you reach the 2nd tier discount? I have to go raise funds now selling my body for science/pleasure.

I would appreciate if you removed a link to the Chinese knock off version of our solar systems from the Cascadia 4x4 Group Buy page. FYI, Lensun copied our designs, system and even went as far as to copy and paste our text directly from our website to theirs. Cascadia 4x4 are the inventors of the vehicle specific solar systems and spent years in R&D making sure the we could offer the best product possible.

While they may look similar, we offer a very different product to them. Each of our designs is tested in the real world on each vehicle to ensure it works (ie, stays stuck down and functions properly). This is the reason we have yet to come out with a system for the sport hoods, because we are not confident in the design working over the long term. You can find several comparisons online. We provide our customers with only the best quality products and customer service that stands behind the product.

Here it is on my taco, 4 years later, no delamination issues, runs flawlessly. One of the best upgrades you can do to a taco, or any outdoor used vehicle for that matter. Thanks for a rad product, i get asked about it ALL THE TIME, and they always walk away amazed.

 

I didn't mean to start anything here that's why I didn't mention a name...I wanted your system but it just wouldn't work without swapping my hood so I decided to try out thiers...interested to see what you come up with...I mat be a customer in the future.

Well, access cabs can't do an RTT and I don't think I can do a roof rack either since I don't want to drill holes in my roof. So let me rephrase that 'Sport owners with access cabs are out of luck' then...

Are your Roof Rack 45W Panels compatible with an upTOP Overland Alpha Tacoma Double Cab Roof Rack? I've been looking into installing one 100W Renogy panel, but prefer the form factor of your panels.

 

Curious if the hood panel can go direct to RedArc? Or is the MPPT required? My RedArc has an unused solar input.

 

I can answer that one. It depends on which REDARC charger you have, some may require a crossover relay or other things to make it work. I have the

BCDC1240D and it has a built-in regulator requiring no other external devices. Check your user manual, most of the newer models have this function internal and it should make connecting it simple.
