Carpet delete, molded rubber flooring

They put carpet in because 90% of the people buying Tacomas might see a bit of mud on their shoes once a year. If all they had were rubber floors we'd have endless threads titled "how cheap Toyota is for putting rubber floors in their $40k truck, it's a damn crime against humanity."

 

You might try these folks. I got a rubber backed, molded carpet from them - it's what I want.
But on this page, they offer "message them about it!"

Man, I had the rubber/vinyl flooring option in my first Jeep Cherokee, it was awesome! Never thought of it for the Tacoma, but it would be nice. Guessing with all the modern electronics though, wouldn’t want to open the doors and hose it down like I did with the Jeep.

 

I remember a friend who had an 2008 FJ and it came from factory with no carpets or floor mats in it.One big sheet of rubber or vinyl covering the interior. He would pressure wash the insides and let it dry. He had a bush lot with lots of mud etc etc.

 

Yep, my 07 FJ Cruiser came with the rubber/ vinyl floor throughout. I have hosed out the interior on that vehicle more than once.

 

You can get the new Bronco with rubber floor and drain plugs. No worries about the mats sliding around since there are grooves and fasteners to hold them in place.

 

I like to keep my truck clean but with my job and my normal activities I would literally need to clean my truck dialy to keep up with the carpet.. with the quality of silicone and other products there has to be a combination that's durable yet easy to clean. Like the same material used to make silicone tray liners but a little less flexible and a little more rigid.

I honestly don’t get why trucks have carpet from the factory! If Mike the mall crawler wants carpet then by some give us mud proof rubber floors!!
