Looking at a Tacoma with carmax MaxCare warranty. What are the step I’ll need to take to transfer the warranty? Also is it kinda odd that the seller is selling private rather than trading it back in at carmax...maybe he got a lowball offer? He said I’m responsible for dealing with the warranty transfer. Is there anyway Carmax can show me a history of or if any work was done on the truck?

    Thanks for the help!

There website says you have to look at the warranty paperwork as it’s administrated by a third party. Good luck

You will probably get a more accurate answer by calling someone at Carmax. Unless a member here that has actually done this same thing chimes in, you will get a lot of good guesses.

Jump forward almost 2 weeks, I’ve put on a HS Off-road 2” lift kit with 5100s all around, new springs, and a AAL in the rear, with TRD 17x7” SEMA wheels wrapped in 255-80-17 Toyo Open Country ATs Installed InSight Retrofits HIDs, look friggin' sweeeet Husky Weatherbeater Action onboard
Wife works at CarMax, she says the owner will need to transfer it to you, and she says it costs (or used to cost) $23.

My little brother has the top end Carmax Warranty on his Exploder. That thing is pretty neat, any issue at all he takes it in, he's been in from everything from struts, evap leak, sensors, etc. no deductible, seems worth it.

I was deployed when my Dad took him to buy it, his first car, I still give my Dad shit about it but we have been a Ford family with the exception of me and my Moms recent move to a JLU, you know how parents can be. Dad has had an F150, Explorer, etc. Excursion in the garage for as long as I can remember. My first truck was a Ranger.
