"Card in Spokes" Engine Noise While Cold

    The noise sounds like a flapping of a playing card in bicycle spokes. It increases with my RPM. It's not LOUD but still very noticeable. The Engine humm itself sounds healthy and natural. This is only when the engine is cold. Mornings have been in the mid twenties here. Is usually non existant once the temp reaches 1/3 warm. Also, I should add i've only got 9k miles on the truck. Lay your knowledge upon me.

    I'd honestly say its normal. The V6 is a noisy beast. Mines been pretty loud this winter also.

    I read quite a bit on this and the solution for me was the fuel. I'm running 91 now and the truck runs so much better then the low grade shit.

    More money at the pump, but to me well worth it.

    For the record mine was noisy all the time.

    Take your serpentine belt off at night , and start it after a cold soak to see if the noise is still there . That will eliminate everything that the belt turns while its cold .Dont run the truck long though
