Car seat cover recommendations

I've got a new 2023 OR and looking to protect the seats. I've got a dog that will ride inside with me and plan on doing some overlanding type stuff. So, looking for something that will make it easy to vacuum up the dog hair plus protect the seat from water, dirt, mud, etc. Also, I do wear items on my belt that will rub on the seat and eventually cause a hole.
I've been looking at Coverking and Wet Okole but wanted to see what recommendations I can get from TW.

I have the Rough Country ones and they have been great.

 

CLAZZIO Leather Seat Covers, had them for 5 years now and still look great. They also fit perfect.

 

It really depends on what you want to spend. This topic has been beaten to death around here and there’s tons of discussion on the following covers if you look for it. Prices mentioned are for double cab:
Rough country ($200) is a cheaper alternative to wet omelet ($500+), or whatever, both are neoprene.
People really like Clazzio ($400 for pvc up to $900 for top tier leather) for slip on leather covers and katzkin ($$your first born child$$) for leather replacements. I only mention the later to poke fun and point out that the sky is the limit if you hate having money. They aren’t covers but you could just enjoy your oem seats and then recover them later.
Best protection on a “budget” is Carhartt ($700 retail and magically $300 on amazon somehow), but they fit like burlap sacks and aren’t waterproof.
Some guys in the what have you done thread have posted their random covers from the jungle but to cover front an back row is usually around $200

Just installed my Clazzio's today, bought from a TW member. Excellent fit and they look great.

 

the thing with seat covers, its hard to find a good set that Looks good that also

defiantly nice, knowing the interior will be kept safe....

 

I plan on purchasing a pair of custom PRP seats very soon. I’ve read a lot of good reviews.

After a LOT or research and having asked the same question I went with Clazzio's leather covers like others here. Picked black body with dark gray perforated inserts and dark gray stitching to mirror the stock colors so hopefully they'll look OE. Just starting to install them. Headrests and arm rest done. Others have said that the headrests are the hardest part and I'm pretty sure they're right - per John Lennon, "I've got blisters on my fingers!". But they look great. Will tackle the seats in the next few days. The less expensive PVC covers look great too and will probably be more to your liking with respect to being used and abused. I have Wet Okole’s (had them on my 2010 as well) and would recommend them right up until I read about your dog.

Neoprene has a ton of attributes as a seat cover material (waterproof, easy to clean, adds cushion, fits snugly, etc.), but it sucks for dog hair. I had to use lint brushes and tape rolls to pick up dog hair from my seats. Vacuuming wouldn’t pick it up.

In your place, I’d probably recommend leather or faux leather that you could just wipe with a damp cloth.

 

Rough Country. Cheap & well made. I doubt you want nice leather if you have dogs that like to have fun outside.

 

I've had my Wet Okoles on my 13 since day one. 10.5 years of use with dogs, kids, coffee, tools for my business, snow, salt, dirt. Driver side just starting to show wear on side panel. Black on black no piping.
Getting the same ones for my 2023. Bought current set in the days of group buys. Seats are perfect underneath. Very happy with mine.

allot of these seat covers you guys post with links for suggestions, I would not waste any time looking at, they dont even offer a Backseat seat cover WTF lol.....

 

I go to the beach so they are going to get wet - went with rough country - so far I really like them.
PROS: Low cost - fit nice and snug - look good - and most of all don't have to worry about getting them wet.
CON: dog hairs do not brush off easy - somebody mentioned using one of those lint things

I went with the Rough Country neoprenes. They are thick, tight and fit perfectly. I ended up unbolting the front seat frames from the floorpan (14mm socket) to fasten the straps properly and not just blindly attach them to anything like wiring harnesses or something the clips might slip off of. This will also prevent you from attaching straps that may interfere with the seat track. This method will take longer but the result is worth it.

I took them out of the plastic shipping bags to sit out for a few weeks before install. That way there was no odor from the off gassing. No weird stench inside and the Taco still has that new car smell.

And, yes, the rear belt needs to be removed for install of the rear covers. I avoided attaching the drawstraps to each other in the front and back to prevent undue stress on them.

I've had them a couple months and could not be happier.

 

Right on. I did the same thing. I am perplexed by some pics I've seen online where people routed fasteners wherever they could.

There is one minus for RC covers - they are cut for manual seat adjusters. If you have electronic seats, you may see a seam even if you tuck in the cover properly around the left driver's side.

 

I have the Carhartt seat savers front and rear. They're good to protect the seats, but don't look the best or feel amazing. It's peace of mind since I get in and out muddy and wet a lot
