Capacity of door hinges (hang weight, shear strength)

Good morning! Does anyone know the hang weight capacity for our generation's door hinges?

Say someone added an extra 10lbs to their door hang weight, do you think there's enough safety margin built into the hinges that the doors won't misalign over time as the hinge fails?

 

I would say there is enough strength for 10 pounds. People often put their weight on the open door just climbing into the truck. The suspension takes the weight.

 

Adding some massive speakers?

 

I've installed 20-25 pounds of extra weight in quite a few doors but none were on a 2nd gen Tacoma (yet). I've never had a problem and the 2nd gen Tacomas hinges look similar to others that I have added that weight to.

What is a solid core panel and why do you want to install it?

It sounds pretty obvious what it is, I would like to know what it's made out of and its purpose.

 

It's just a side project I am exploring. I'd really like to have the doors be more beefy. It would be neat to go back to the heavy door seal feel.

 

10 lbs won't make a difference.....

I added RAAMmat sound deadening material to the doors on my Taco.... aside from getting rid of the road noise, the stereo sounding better, the sound when closing the doors don't have that cheap tinny sound.....
