Can't log in to Toyota Owners site (but can log in to app)

I can log into the Toyota app and see my mileage, tire pressure, fuel level, service history, etc. for the Tacoma (and service history for our old Yaris) but I can't log in to the Toyota Owners site with the same credentials.

I used to be able to log in to the site, but it started doing this a few months ago and I can't log in. The site recognizes my email address and will let me do a password reset, but then when I try to log in with the new details the same error message comes up.

I sent in a message to Toyota tech support and they said that they could see that my account was valid/active/etc and that there had been some recent site maintenance but could see nothing wrong on their end.

I get this regardless of computer/browser/etc. Any suggestions?

 

i was able to log in fine using a PC. maybe try to create an entirely new acct, though they may flag it using the same VIN.

 

Since I heard about the 3rd brake light campaign I’ve been attempting to log in to the owner’s site for the past two days as well. Keep getting a “try again later”msg. The website is reachable just won’t let some of us in.

 

They have the names of all ov us on TW and are blocking us!
They know we mean trouble for them..

It sounds like you may be trying to check in on the Toyota.com site which is the US site. If you go to Toyota.ca>Owners Services>Recalls and Campaigns, you can enter your VIN there. All this is assuming that you still live and purchased your truck in Winterpeg.

@Holdfast4 , I managed to check for a recall and so far don’t have one. Maybe the Canuck trucks got better seals in 2018.

 

Haha, well that's good news at least. Sadly, it has been my experience that Toyota Canada doesn't always follow the campaigns that Toyota in the US is doing. That or they are late on the follow through.

I've been getting the same message as OP for a couple of months. Still doesn't work.

 

I just tried to log in, everything seems to be working for me. I know you mentioned this happening on multiple computers, but does this happen if you try to log in to the mobile version of the site? Like if you pull up the website on your phone through its browser?

 

Says the website is down for maintenance

 

It has been saying that for about 3 months for me.

Same thing... I even tried disabling wifi and using cell data in case it had flagged my IP address. It's weird... the site is up and gives me a login page, and will even let me reset my password and will send password reset messages to my email. But as soon as I enter my credentials and hit log in, it shows the message about maintenance.



I can log into the Toyota app with the same user/pass with no problems.

 

How weird. I wonder if there are any issues with your account specifically that are preventing you from accessing that page. Might be beneficial to give Toyota a call and see if they can weigh in on the issue?

 

Yeah, I guess I will have to do that... I did send a message in and they said my account looked fine on their end. It's not a huge deal as I can do everything in the app but I would like to have access since it's easier to add maintenance records from a computer.

 

just a thought:
if you have an adblocker or an aggressive cookie manager, whitelist the site.
i got bitten by this today where petsmart and paypal would not cooperate. i whitelisted them and success.
i have seen weird behavior at other sites occasionally.

 

Just tried it on my Mac at work in Safari (which I never use/has no plugins). Same issue... has to be some kind of flag on my account, I'm thinking.

 

Just tried logging in on the website (only used the app before) and it worked fine for me — unfortunately seems like Toyota’s done something to your account.

On another note, how are you seeing fuel level, tire pressure, odometer miles, etc. from the app? Mine doesn’t seem to have that functionality.
