I think Tacoma manual says a sway bar is required if over 2000lb.

Is it possible to put a sway bar on a squaredrop trailer with a torsion axle? If so, what kind would work well?

I am not asking if you need one but rather is it possible. thank you

The 2021 manual says if the gross trailers is over 2000lb, a sway control device with sufficient capacity is required.

I was told you can't physically have a sway bar with a torsion axle. Is that true?

Gotcha, never heard it called a sway bar before but that makes more sense.

I have no valid input past this so I wish you luck, hopefully someone chimes in.

I've never heard of not using sway control with torsion axles. Look at Airstream trailers.

My recommendation would be an Andersen No-Sway WDH. The setup is substantially lighter, has a wider range of weight capabilities, easier to setup/re-hitch, and has sway control integrated into the hitch without having to bolt another bracket to the trailer frame.
I use one on my camper, car trailer, and my parents use one on their Airstream.

Any axle can be used with trailer sway control. For clarity, trailers dont use sway bars installed across the axle, they use sway control installed at the hitch.

It is definitely not a good idea to install an axle stabilizer bar on any single axle trailer.

Sway control at the hitch is a good idea, however, not every trailer is compatible with sway control.

It's generally not advised to install sway stuff on a straight tongue trailer.

Not knowing what kind of teardrop you have, if your trailer has an A-frame or composite frame (right two examples, above) then you can easily find a sway control system that will fit it, no matter how small. There are some people who have tried to install sway control on the straight or single frame (left example), but again, it's generally ill advised, as the leverage is not there and there's a risk of tweaking the frame.
