Just got done spot-correcting peeling clear coat on my camper. The paint came out good, I’m using duplicolor. I realized the clear coat I bought is Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel clear coat. The paint I’m using is Duplicolor perfect match Acrylic lacquer paint. Can I put this clear coat on top of the paint safely, or should I wait overnight for the part store to open and grab the other clear coat? The paint is drying as we speak

Just my 2 cents and I'm no painter so have no clue... lol

When in doubt, wait. Can always wait until tomorrow - put on another good coat, follow instructions on interval and then clear coat and follow those instructions. An additional paint coat isn't going to hurt tomorrow.

my 1st choice would be duplicolor acrylic lacquer, but you should be ok, both are acrylic based.
generally speaking lacquer topcoat is not recommend over enamel, it is much hotter than enamel base paint and can cause wrinkles or bubbles.

How did you fix the clear coat ? I have a spot on my hood I want to try and fix. I thought about wet sanding with several thousand grit then just using rattle can clear coat.

Get a really high grit sand paper from harbor freight (above 1000), and a bucket of soapy water. Tape off the area really close to the flakes, throw water on it and your sand paper, sand it unit it’s smooth. Spray with paint a few times. In an hour spray it with clear coat a few times.

Isn’t a perfect method but this was done on the top of a used camper shell I purchased so it’s not really noticeable. Goal is to get the flaking to stop
