Just found a pair of genuine toyota LCA's from a guy who took them off after the frame swap. They have 3,000 miles on them. At quick inspection they were good but upon closer i notice there is a small tear in one of the boots. Do you think I'm SOL here? If i pump the joint full of new grease is there anything that can sufficiently patch this? I couldn't find just boots for sale...

    IMHO not patchable.

And that booger on the threads would need dressing up before installing too.

I noticed that, too but was hoping that part would be above the nut. Not sure, though

The boots go through tremendous flex when installed, so any kind of adhesive, liquid rubber, etc. will crack. If the LCA is off the truck, it's relatively easy to replace the ball joint with OEM or $30 Moog (which has the low-profile boots I like). Remove the circlip and press it out with a big vise, hydraulic press, ball joint press, or air hammer.

Could likely be dressed with a die and work fine.

However, the better plan is to replace the ball joint, as @KenLyns suggests.

Examine the other one closely too. Better to have 2 new ones than having one fail after installation.
