Hi, I'm planning to reverse my truck's lowering kit this summer. We bought it lowered and did not realize at first and once I get it taken care of I would like to lift it a few inches. Sorry for the numerous and low quality pics, I used my cell phone and don't know what really to show you.

So if you can figure out what I need to do to get my truck back to stock height, please tell me! Also, I have none of the original parts. Thank you!

At first glance, it looks like they flipped the leafs to put them under the spring (like most cars) and then added a lowering block/kit in between the springs and axle.

That's for the rear...not sure on the front.

for the rear they did a spring flip. On normal 6 lug tacomas the leaf springs are suppose to sit on top of the rear axle.

For the front I couldnt tell, dropped spindles maybe :notsure:

Looks like the base models rear springs. Your rear stock shock mounts are still on the axle, so all you need is new leafs it looks like. Those shocks look like they might work in the original posistion.

Sorry forgot to add you'll need the hardware to properly mount the axle under the leafs as well

How can I do that? We bought the truck about 3 1/2 years ago and it just got paid off, would they even take me seriously?

for everyone else who posted, how can I get my truck back to stock? How much could that cost? Hopefully it isn't so much that I'm better off buying another truck instead of lifting this one.

Looks like on the back, they put the springs under the axle and they should be sitting on top. you'll need the right u bolts and and the bottom bracket to hold them to the axle. You'll also need the bumpstops unless I just don't see them. They are held on by the u bolts on top of the spring. I can't tell if the shackle is still on the back of the spring. The rear shock should be mounted to the bracket on the axle that is towards the wheel on the bottom. One thing that is throwing me off is the big block that the spring is mounted to on the axle. I don't remember that on my truck. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on that will chime in.

The Front I honestly am not for sure. It looks almost like they put an adapter on the strut to lower the spring or they have a whole new strut under there.

If you are looking at getting a lift anyways I'd wait until you got a lift with all new struts, shocks, and springs. and do it all at once. If you got for example an OME kit It would have pretty much everything except for the u bolt bracket for the rear. But I'd wait till someone speaks up about that block on the back axle, that would be in the way to lift it back up and I don't know if it comes off or not. I know a bit about lifting it but nothing about lowering it.

You should be able to lift it with a new leaf pack in the rear and some new shocks, lift spindles up front and new coilvers up front.

That's a stock axle, blocks are not welded, front has springs compressors mounted in strut. Easy Ry Ry, he just has to remove the kit. If he is lifting all he would have to do is remove the struts and leafs and replace with a set of Icons and a set of dakars in the rear. Just needs to buy a new set of ubolts, done and done.
First thing I thought when I saw the spring spacer. Give what's his nuts a call, he can send you an install guide which, if read in reverse will tell you how to remove. Here is a link to verify btw.

    A few bolts are different.
Looks like the coil seats on the front are lowered down on the strut.

There are many people selling stock struts around here, or just get 5100's.

How much would all that replacement cost? Is it better to put it to stock, then lift it, or do it all in one blow? Can either option be done myself? I'm no mechanic, but I'm also no stranger to a toolbox. I'm also not fond of paying someone to do something I can do (I.e. oil change, etc)

What about the leaf pack being under the axle? How much would that cost?

Thank goodness, that is convenient. How did you take it off? As for using the stock leaf pack, isn't it missing one?

Are those replacements something I would buy individually or can I buy a package deal that has them? Like ARTaco mentioned.

Is that better than lifting it at the same time or should I put that off? I'm also unfamiliar with whats his nuts.

Should I get 5100s or get a complete set from OME?

It would better too just get a new leaf pack because the one on your truck is probably getting close to being shot.

What about what a previous poster said about getting an entire do-over? Most likely every thing that needs to be periodically replaced needs replacing on my truck. That being said, 5100s or OME For my needs? (DD, no offroad, sick of rough riding and want ride comfort)

A previous poster offered to send me some plates if I paid S&H. If I can do the work myself, I don't mind going to stock for a while then lifting. I apologize for all my lack of knowledge.

That sounds like a good idea. So I need U bolts, plates, shackles, and leaf springs? And just coils for the front?

Hey guys, I am the one with the suspension stuff op is interested in. I don't think it would be worth it for him to get my rear leafs as he has basically the same ones. Does op need new leafs? If the guy who is sending you the plates has better u bolts, you should take those so you don't have to deal with cutting one of mine.

Op, I'll make you a good deal on whatever you end up needing from me whether its front coils/springs and leafs or just one or the other. Lets see about the leafs before I pm you...

LIft all depends on what use you want and how many duckets you got in your bank account. Pulling the lowering kit and putting a lift on all at the same time would be ideal to consume less time, but is not necessary.

Sounds like you need to do a little research on here, see what prices are for things, what kind of lift you want from spacer, 5100, upper arms, spindles, coilovers, etc. etc. you want/need/can afford/will use.

Out of everything Bud is offering all you would want is the front struts, rear shocks, and stock U bolts.

I've decided to pretty much... not ever use spacers. I hear everyone just buys new suspension afterward and that sounds like bad business. I have decided to just put it to stock with some new shocks struts coils and someone offered a leaf pack so I'll use it. As for when I do lift the truck, I am pretty sure I will be using this.

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Bilstein-Adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks_p_132.html

I do need to do research on UCA and spindles though. :p
