Hey all. I sprayed some black magic tire wet in my engine and it wont come off with degreaser.
I know mineral spirits are safe on paint but they say it isnt safe for ABS and some other plastics.
    Anyone happen to know?

Go buy a can or 3 of the foaming engine degreaser and go to a self serve car wash. Avoid spraying the alternator directly with the high pressure.

Simple green a pile of rags and a six pack. I’ve never liked spraying the engine with a pressure washer even though I know it mostly won’t hurt anything. Mostly.

Thanks guys. I tried dish soap and it didnt work. I'd like to use simple green but it will oxidize my aluminum, is it safe for paint?
I tried engine degreaser, that didnt work. But maybe I have to do it multiple times? Mineral Oil seems to need harsh solvents to remove.
Manufacturer suggested Rain X heavy Duty Car wash.

It's probably not the best idea and will eventually likely bite me square in the butt....but I wash my engine bays at the car wash once or twice a year to keep them looking pretty much "as new". I've been doing this since about 1980 on about 15 different cars and it's never caused a problem. Not saying it won't next week, because it might. The low pressure soap and spot free rinse (low pressure) work pretty well for this.

Trucks/cars are ment to have water forced into the engine bay. Safe just dont do the alternator and fuse box. How else would you degrease your engine.
