Can there be too much AC condensation drip?

Recently had work done to my AC system to get it working again. The dealership did such a shotty job from the grease stained seats to multiple dash panels being forced into place and misaligned. (Was pissed to say the least, shoulda made them reimburse me the whole thing.) But the AC works great and gets ice cold now so that’s nice.

Anyways, I got home after around a 30 minute drive and taking my bike out the back I noticed a very high rate of drip. Like multiple drops of water a second (maybe 3-5). It also has some condensation on the low pressure line. Humidity of 65% and 85 out.

Anything to be concerned about or is it fine?

Sounds like its working to me. Condensation is a natural byproduct of the AC cooling.

Yes I know, there’s just a whole lot of it. Maybe my system works that good now

It's less Tacoma and more mod
If it's dripping it's working, maybe the humidity around you has risen lately

My co worker had his air conditioner replaced in his 01 Tahoe recently and he took it back into the shop because he was getting puddles underneath his vehicle. Turns out that the shop overcharged his AC system due to their machine being “old”.

some days I get a pretty good size puddle under the truck .

while they had things apart they most likely cleaned the drain out it just might be working better .

I don't see a problem or one that would cause concern in the future. Did you take it to an actual Toyota dealership or some auto shop? Usually dealerships do a pretty good job of not missing up your parts they remove or work on.

For comparison, my 2003 Camry has never had a charge. AFTER it has been run with A/C and engine shut off, it will drip a 12" circle of water on the garage floor. I think your fine.

There can't be too much dripping. That just means it's working great.

When you cool the air it can't hold as much water so the relative humidity of the air goes up. At 85F with relative humidity 65% the dew point it 72F. That means if you cool the air to 72F its relative humidity is 100%. Any cooling below that then the air can't hold the water vapor anymore and it condensates out. If the evaporator core is at 33F you will be getting a lot of that excess water condensating and dripping out. If it were only cooling to 40F you'd get less condensation. So, it sounds like the system is getting nice and cold and is working great.
