Can someone help track my Vin number?

Update on my Tacoma trd pro. I had put down $1k to hold the truck and was able to track it through the free online Toyota tracker website, which showed that it was on ground may 12th. I called the dealer last week and was told it would be 3-4 weeks out... I was confused about how that happened, so I spoke to someone in a fb Toyota group and had them track my vin, and now I’m thinking the dealer sold the truck out from under me. Well yesterday, I called the dealer and spoke to the manager, and she told me it’s now 5-6 weeks out. I’m about to get my deposit back and stick with my 2nd option, but has anyone had something similar happen to them? My vin number is 3TYCZ5AN0PT142760, I don’t want to bash the dealer but rn it’s not looking good lol. Can I have a second person here check the vin rq to double everything?

What do you mean on the ground? Do you mean a few door unlock messages, and possibly a mile or two, and tire pressures?
If it's made in Mexico, it's got to make it to port, then if destined for the East Coast make it's way to FLA or NY if I'm not mistaken.
When in the port, if there are options to be installed (you have the window sticker right), they aren't going to be installed same day. Then it has to go on a transport to the dealership.

You're vehicle is possibly experiencing logistics, or option/part delays.

 

I don’t have access to the vehicle in the Toyota app or anything. I put a deposit on the vehicle while it was in transit to the dealership and it was one week out from arrival. I checked the online Toyota tracker that’s available to everyone and it said the vehicle arrived at the dealer the 12th of may. My dealer is saying other wise, and that it’s still 6+ weeks out, so I’m confused and not sure if they are telling the truth. I put the $$ down on the vehicle a week before it was supposed to get there, bc it was unspoken for, we agreed on a deal and everything for me to even put the $ down.

 

Ask your dealer if you can come in and look over their shoulder to verify tracking info.

But you could. Just download the app onto a smartphone or tablet and enter the VIN.

Don't know what to tell you. Perhaps there's a recall and they need to swap out a part, or... it was damaged when being offloaded by the carrier and it's gone to the body shop, or something else... (no intention of triggering you).

Does it have some special option that is to be installed by the dealer? Some special lift kit or other?

Someone pointed you to the other thread. Post your question there. Read some of the posts going back a month or two. There could be something that others are experiencing as well.

 

Another poster reported the Tacoma sat for a month in a depot less than 60 miles from the dealer. Paperwork and procedures are a bummer!

 

I did that and tracked the truck and supposedly it arrived at the dealer may 12th. I’m wanting to see if someone that works with Toyota (sales person) that’s in here can put the vin in their system and see if the that free tracking app is accurate or if the dealers lying and what not.
