Can leaky PCV cause oil loss?

I have an oil loss and have pretty much ruled out the engine burning because the spark plugs look clean and performed a (relatively) successful cylinder leakdown test (5/6 cylinders lose about 10-15%, one loses 30%). There is no smoke coming out of the engine bay or tail pipe.

In the course of the leakdown test, I noticed that this PCV tube

on the left (driver) side, that goes from this valve on the cylinder head cover

to the valve on the intake manifold

is a little cracked on the cylinder head end and that both clamps (if that twisted chicken wire POS can be called a clamp) are loose. The PCV hose on the other side of the V6 engine is in a little better shape.

Could this tube connection being loose cause (via an imbalance in pressure) engine oil loss? Everywhere around the tube is clean, i.e. no signs of oil leakage.

The PCV Hose being loose on the drivers side will cause a poor idle. As for a loss of oil, not the intake sucks on that hose anyway with the flow being from the valve cover to the intake. The purpose of the PCV Valve is to prevent an intake detonation from firing into the valve cover. It is a check valve.

So you don't think this could be causing it ?

Granted the PCV will introduce some oil vapors into the intake which will get burned. It will not cause large oil burning unless you have other issues... like a blocked oil return passage from the head, causing the upper head to fill with oil...

A stopped up one or stopped up line or fitting will cause excessive pressure to blow oil out a path of least resistance sometimes. I know I had that on an old inline 6 Ford where the PCV valve itself was fine and so was the line but it turned out the fitting into the crank case was blocked. Was blowing oil out the valve cover gaskets.
