Can I use LS Gear Oil in my Locking Diff?

    Yes you can use it, limited slip additive won't hurt anything in a non-limited slip diff.

    It just helps reduce chatter and friction temps of the mechanical limited slip but doesn't harm the gears inside of the diff. If it did then it wouldn't be good for either one

    i always get the LS lube for any axle, it makes no DIFFerence to either types

    I've read that LS additive has the potential to increase oxidation rate when added to a Non-LS gear oil, effectively shortening the usage life that was listed on the bottle. I don't know how true that is, but something to consider if you're doing something like, for example, adding Amsoil Slip Lock additive to a batch of Mobil 1 HD Plus 80w-90, which is a GL-5 Conventional Hypoid Gear Oil does NOT contain a Friction Modifier Package. The act alone won't damage the locking diff (as far as I'm aware), but has the potential to by shortening the mileage you'll get before having change the fluid again. If you're used to changing at a specific interval, but unknowingly shorten that interval then the diff could prematurely wear. Or so I've read.
