So I sure this is a simple answer, I just don't know and I can't find it or phase it will enough to find answer on Google.

I was wondering if I can put 2 separate dual usb chargers on the same fuse. So instead of using 2 5amp in-line fuses i would use 1 10 amp add a fuse?

Sure. USB is charging at 5V, so you're drawing <1/2 the amps @ 12+V as the chargers are putting out, even accounting for efficiency loss from dropping the voltage. Even a pair of 2-plug high output USB chargers would probably be fine on a 5A fuse.

Simple answer, yes. Make sure your wire gauge is appropriate for the amperage you’re running, though I’d run a 10 amp fuse.

My background is car audio, I overbuild everything and never under estimate amp/voltage requirements.

Thank you, the 10 amp was what I was thinking. My thought was the 10 would protect both of i had 3 items plugged I'm but I wasn't sure if one dual usb could go bad cuz it had a 10amp instead of a 5amp.

A fuse pops if you attempt to draw more amps through it than it’s rating. The fuse should be rated for at least your supposed power draw, and the wire should support more than the fuse. You want the fuse to pop before the wire melts down/catches fire.

So, if your usb charger pulls 5 amps, you fuse it for 10, wire will support 20+ plus you’re good.

    Vehicle fires are no bueno.

I’ve been into car audio for almost twenty years, last car ran a head, two amps, components and a sub, and literally yards of wiring. Always, ALWAYS, make your electrical wiring sanitary and beefy, and fuse everything close to the battery/power source.

I don't recall how I managed it, maybe I put the fuse back by my sub... but when I first had my 1st gen, I ran the 8 gauge cable to my powered sub outside the cab then through a grommet. I'm sitting in it one day and hear this arcing and popping noise... it had rubbed through on the pinch weld and was attempting to make the pinch weld more welded.

Yup... fuse near as possible to the battery/supply point is good. Luckily I learned that the easy way.

Uninstalling a capacitor back in the day, I disconnected it from the battery, then started pulling the cable front to back under the carpet. Heard a loud pop and couldn’t pull it any more. The bare end of the wire hit an uncoated section of floor and discharged the cap, spot welding the cable to the sheet metal.

12V is nothing to play with.

    USB 1.0 and 2.0 specs, standard 500mA (0.5A).

    USB 3.0, it is standard 900mA (0.9A).
Charging downstream and dedicated charging ports can provide up to 1,500mA (1.5A).

So at the most you would be looking at 6 amperes. That is only if all ports were loaded and drawing 1.5 amps each.

Man, I’ve got 3 dual USB ports and 2 12v sockets on the same circuit. You’ll be fine.

20amp. Most likely over kill since these circuits are charging stuff like headlamps, lanterns, cellphones and other small camping items.
