I am looking to upgrade my 500 watt hour portable power station. I currently plug in my 12v fridge into the power supply and then plug the power supply into the bed outlet and charge while driving. My current power station has the "brick" included in the power cable. Can anyone confirm that the AC180 will charge from the bed outlet in a '19 Tacoma? Thanks.

I would not recommend it, purely from an efficiency issue. To charge your power station you are going from a dc system to an AC inverter to a DC converter to a DC battery bank. That's two spots where you're losing electricity to the heat of conversion. It can be done, it's just not efficient.

If you're powering off the truck, try to keep it in DC mode all the way, if you can. I would personally install a DC outlet in the bed for such things. It would eliminate the worry of overloading the relatively weak 400w inverter.

What power station do you use currently?
I have an eco flow river max that runs my fridge. I tried charging the EcoFlow with my bed outlet while traveling to our site and realized the battery was not charging at all. Seems like the EcoFlow doesn’t like the AC inverter on the Tacoma. My EcoFlow charges at 100w by DC and will charge up to 600w by AC.

Look into the 24v DC converter for charging portable power stations. Most cap out like 120-150W with 12V, but you can double the watts getting up to 24V for much faster Dc charging in a car or truck.

The onboard inverter sucks for multiple reasons. Even if you do the 400W all the time mod, it's a modified square wave output that most portable power stations will reject for incoming AC charging.
