I am trying to identify this camper shell. I can't tell what the tag says and I am not real familiar with them. what would be a fair value on this also. said it has an inside light and carpet. thanks.

definitely their logo in the pic. Not a fan of the mounting base of the racks. Looks tacky, should have gone with the standard tracks on top of the shell.

I don't like the racks period which brings me to another question. can i just take them off and fill in the holes and repaint over them? I don't have a need for top racks. he said the windows don't leak or anything. asking $450 but it is a 4 1/2 hour drive one way so I am trying to get as much info before I strike out that far.

anyone else have pros or cons about this shell?

Ask if there is a boot between cab and shell. I don't like the boots- they wear the paint off of the cab.

$450 sounds like a pretty fair price for the shell if it's in decent shape. And it can be a pain in the ass and take a while to find a shell that matches your trucks color and configuration (I looked for a while and finally gave up hope and bought a new one). That being said, having to drive 9 hours round trip then spending the time and money to fill the rack holes and try to match the paint would probably be a deal breaker for me.

I would pass for several reasons just because once you pay for gas and have to repair the holes(if even possible) and complete repaint to match, you will be looking at $800-900. Be patient because I see shells on here and CL quite reasonable. Don't know what your main purpose is for the shell but have you consider a softopper? I recently sold mine just because of the added weight of the shell plus my rear body armor bumper. I didn't feel like beefing up my suspension to correct the slight sag, building a garage winch for storage and honestly, I'm happy to have full access to my bed again plus Bakflip cover. Although I would buy a softopper if I can find a deal on it.

Well, I never had one until my last tacoma which had a shell. I really enjoyed having it especially during hunting season. I actually sleep back there. I would say during the summer I might would take it off but not sure.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    OK, here is the deal.

    1) You can easily take the roof rack cross bars off. After you unlock them they just lift off. That leaves four small black metal plates, two on each side. Just leave those alone. Paint them to color match to the shell if you like. Who knows, maybe one day you'll want some roof rack cross bars for carrying a canoe, or luggage/gear box, bikes, skies, spare tire, or whatever...

    2) You'll need to look for small cracks in the fiberglass, especially around the rear glass door area. These indicate trouble and if you see them I'd avoid the shell.

    3) The price sounds pretty fair if the shell is in good shape. Although, keep in mind a shell like that probably costs around $1000 new. And, I am surprised you can't find one for that $400 - $450 price range in your area without having to take such a long drive?

BTW. They are easy to paint to match the vehicle. Maaco and other discount painters should paint it to match for $200-$250 if you tape it off for them.

I am with you, I love my cap. The shell has made my bed so much more useful: for camping, hauling, and basically a 6' trunk.

thanks. I am getting skeptical on this now that I seen another post about the guys truck. I have looked in a 500 mile radius of me on cl and other used forums to try and find a LWB shell. besides this one, I have only found one and it is pending funds. I can find swb shells all day long but the LWB are rare.
