Can a 2nd gen brush guard fit?

There is a nice brush guard for sale locally but its off a 2nd gen. Has anyone tried to fit a second gen guard to a 3rd gen tacoma?

 

Yes, The guard itself will fit the bumper area of the truck and look great but the actual mounting brackets are off about 3/4" from the mounting points on the frame. I fabricated brackets (which actually just offset from the original) bolted everything together, painted black and bolted to the truck where it was intended. I'm out of town so I cannot take a pic of the set up but it was not difficult and cost me about $20 in flat steel stock and hardware.

 

Be careful of the placement of the brush guard that you put in front of the tss sensor.
