Camshaft position sensor code after SC install

Evening everyone. So after the SC install I continuously get codes that pop up. The one that keeps popping up is the camshaft position sensor code. I've changed the sensor three times. Everytime it runs great for about a day or two then the code comes right back on. It will idle fine for about 5 min then abruptly die. Any thoughts?

Ground wires all good and tight on the side of the supercharger.

 

Check ALL your ground wires,
1) Battery to fender.
2) Battery to engine,
3) firewall to engine
4) ecu ground wire to the side of the supercharger,
If the supercharger is painted grind paint off,
Typically the small oem ground wires break from age

 

When you've changed the cam position sensor, did you use the OEM replacement? Did you change just the sensor or did you also change the wiring to the sensor?

 

I changed the OEM sensor with OEM sensor. Changed the crankshaft sensor, fixed the timing which was one notch off on the exhaust side. It ran fantastic with no codes. I was ecstatic then I went to start it up this morning and there it was again. P0340. I'm at a loss. The shop put on a lightweight harmonic balancer. I checked the torque and it's torqued on there solid. What do I look for next. I saw the alternator can throw this code. I need a scope but don't have the budget for such a pricey diag tool.

 

I agree with you. However I have posted issues with the specific problem in the title many times without a single reply. So desperation has set in and I'm doing what I can to get this truck going after a year of being parked. And it's been problem after problem after problem.

 

Did you go over your grounds?

 

I would recheck the timing. Making sure the cam and crank mark aline. That's simple enough to do IMO.

 

You have tested these sensors and they have failed ?

Sounds more like a intermittent open circuit .

Perhaps all the moving of plugs and wires has caused a wire to break.
