Does anyone have a good option for sealing the gap between a camper top and the truck cab roof? Thank you.

Is there a reason why you want to? I’ve seen the shells that come with no front window but a rubber gasket seal but those make noises like annoying squeaking noises and will probably rub your paint off

Basically I want it to block rain and air from the small cab window of I we're to leave open for trips to pass fishing rods through.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I suspect your paint would not survive it for long.
Your have a rigid cab attached to a somewhat flexible chassis, and then a somewhat rigid "box" (the shell) connected to the bed which is connected to that same somewhat flexible chassis.
If it's primarily a mall cruiser then you might try finding a piece of thick memory foam and cut it to fit the width of the gap + some additional. Squeeze it and stuff it into the gap. As it returns to its original (cut) width it may generate enough expansion force to keep it in place.
But if you off-road a lot the shell and the cab are going to be constantly twisting independent of each other, working the foam. And gradually erasing the paint on one or the other or both. Assuming of course that it actually stays in place.
I get your goal and if it were me I'd do a trial run with the memory foam.
It does absorb water and I'm not sure how effective it would be if soaking wet.

It may just be the then angle of the picture but I think you have an access cab shell vs the double cab shell. I used a bicycle tube to fill the gap. Ive also seen weatherstripping that may work. Best of luck

I have used one of the longer round foam swim "noodle" squished between the cap and cab as a temporary measure as you are talking about. It works fairly well for this purpose. FWIW...

I have used this and was very careful about washing the truck prior to use but over time it did change the finish on the truck cab slightly…still have it but I don’t use it regularly anymore.
It looks like they can be had for $30-$60 online. I have also used a slightly overinflated mountain bike tube which worked almost as well.

I have this product booked marked from when I was thinking of putting my dog in the bed for long trips and I was going to hang a fan to blow cold air from the AC back to him. I never did it and didn't buy it, but it might work for what you're trying to do.

Personally, I would make a PVC locking rod holder attached to a roof rack, something like this:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/locking-fishing-rod-holders.759889/#post-27089686

As others have mentioned, the combination of movement between the cab and topper, plus the difficulty of creating an effective seal (especially something that would keep the noise minimal at highway speeds) seems like a tall task. Not saying it's impossible, but the exterior rod holder seems like a much better solution IMO.

    Yep.
DC/AC have the same profile. RC are unique.

This bulb seal is similar to what I used. Adhesive side on the cab side window surround, end-split at 6 o'clock for water drainage. Never touches the paint.

I had a thought (only one, alas) while on a fishing trip last weekend. With respect to creating a pass-through for long fly rods into the vehicle cab, why not just use some kind of rigid foam packing material, cut to fit partially opened windows in topper and cab. Cut slits in each piece of foam to accommodate rod(s). Rigid foam might stay in place better than memory foam. This would not seal the gap between the topper and cab, but ought to effectively seal each open window.

I have a vision and will see if I can get some foam pieces and cobble something up.

I use a small bicycle innertube for this and have used it a dozen or so times. You just have to be cautious when inflating as the air pressure should be enough to keep in in place but not too much as to cause undue pressure on the windows. It does squeak on rare occasion which is annoying but I haven't found a better alternative.

To inflate I use the small CO2 bicycle inflation cartridges because it makes inflating while positioning the innertube simpler.
