Anyone with a camper shell on 3rd Gen Tacoma notice any measurable sag on the rear end? I saw an older thread about sagging on the 1st Gen but I was curious if the 3rd Gen is any better.

Nope. Have had a Leer shell since soon after I got the truck 4 years ago. No noticeable sag, if any at all. I guess it depends on what shell you put on too.
Here's what I have (don't remember model designation. Way too long ago)
    Edit: better one

I didn’t notice any sag with my ARE CX, but after I added RTT and all my camping gear there was sag for sure.

Before putting the ARE V series on my truck I took measurements 22" center hub to fender
    After it dropped to 21"
Now I have camping gear in there and some firewood and I'm down to 20".

I want to get the HD leaf pack in there soon
Now my leaf springs match my frown

Nope. She a BBP diet coke. Only thing different now than when I took that pic are new tires and more pinstripes, courtesy of the Nevada desert

No sag after just the topper. I did have a bit of compression after adding the rack and tent. Decided to go with the heavy dobinsons lift to help hand the extra load (plus the winch, bumper, sliders and all of our gear)

I have a 2018 long bed, I did notice a tad bit of sag after adding the Topper, more like taking away the factory rake. Maybe .5 of an inch or so at the very most. Its the Snugtop Rebel with the outdoorsman package. I asked the dealer that I bought it from and he said it weighs 180-200 lbs. Currently running stock suspension, and it does go through the initial travel quickly, but I have bottom out the rear. Even with a camping bed set up and bike rack on the truck with 4 bikes.

I’ve got the snugtop hiliner sport on my long bed with a carpet kit and prior to the lift I didn’t have any sag. You should be fine.

Thanks. I'm asking this question because I was hoping to lift my front about 1 inch so that it's level with the rear. But now I'm worried that if I lift it with the camper shell on, it will cause a reverse rake.

Dont fuckin do that. Theres a purpose for rake. So if you load up the rear, it will level out. I added a AAL to my HD DAKARS.

i think you could get away with a 1 inch lift in the front and be completely fine, but I am not expert. There are plenty of inexpensive AAL kits out there to help lift or help support the added weight.
Do you have the longbed or the shortbed? And it sounds like it depends on what other weight you might have in the bed.

Bit off topic, but how do some of you guys feel with a RTT on a fiberglass shell? I originally wanted to go the shell route but was worried 180 lbs of tent swinging around up top would eventually crack the fiberglass so went with a rack instead.

If the standard factory rake is 2" (back to front), then I have experienced about a 1" sag, as now my rake is 1" (back to front) by installing a Leer XR100 topper. I also have Yakima roof rack (20lbs?) and a ROLA basket on the topper (45+lbs). I'm actually now installing a 2" lift in the front and an AAL in the rear that technically should leave me with about the same 1" rake. I just wanted more payload capacity in the rear. I'll post a pic after that install.

I would say if you are going to lift it or level it, do the front and the rear. as mention the AAL is very reasonable. There are a lot of ways to achieve what you are after. A lot of great resources on here.

I did bilstein 6112’s front and 5160’s with OME HD DAKAR full leaf pack in rear. With shell, carpet kit in rear and racks it sits just fine with no sag.

Hey what clip do you have your 6112's set at in the front? Love the stance.
