Thinking about making some mods for the inside of my camper for future road trips with the lady friend. Any cool mods out there that didn’t cost a fortune? I got tint so far? Lol

I sleep in the bed of my truck when camping, so Carpeting the inside of the cap was a good one for me. I could then Velcro small stuff like curtains and netting to the ceiling.

I put a little shelf up front across the width of the bed. I sleep with my feet forward and my head near the tailgate. My feet go under the shelf and gear goes on the shelf. I can still get large items (e.g. clothes dryer) in truck and it's a convenient place to a duffel of clothing. Two 6' people can just stretch out in there.

I made black out curtains for mine. I sewed some hook ode Velcro onto them so they attached to the carpet.
I only did it a few times but this made sleeping in the truck in populated areas much better.

    Triple ditto.
Found some short nap carpet for the short shelf that matched the Bed Rug and the shell liner pretty well.
Made the reversible curtains from rip stop "Space Blanket" material, red on one side (truck color) reflective silver on the other.

I added some LED strip lights to the bottom edge of the hatch. They light up the tailgate and the area behind the truck nicely.

A fan, either battery or hooked into the trucks battery. Bed caps get real stuffy, real fast with no air flow.

Build a platform 5 or 6 inches high in the bed, with either slideouts out the tailgate or hatches to get under it. This will give you lots of storage with out loosing much height.

A cheap 4" foam mattress from Amazon will do wonders for sleeping comfort.

If you have a short bed and can use a sewing machine make a light weight cover that goes on the cap lift gate that hangs down to the tail gate that goes all the way around from bed side to bedside. If you cant use a sewing machine buy a truck tent that goes on the back. this one is a $140 bucks

Depends on what you want to do in the bed of the truck.

I'd throw some lights in there, and whatever your lady friend thinks is good to sleep on.

Lost of people will do some form of slide-out drawers, with a mattress on top. I've seen several full length 2-drawer setups, with some pockets with hinged lids on the sides (where the fenders aren't).

You loose a bunch of headroom, but you gain a ton of convenient storage space and you don't have to unload all your crap just to sleep in it, or whatever you plan to do in there with your lady friend...

I put in a 12v outlet back there. Comes in handy when camping.

When my nephew was about 4 he’d call them “hookers”.

One time at the hardware store he told the cashier his grandpa has a truck full of hookers.

This thread should really be sent to "Tonneau Covers, Caps and Shells".

    Before it goes.
A shot of the shorty shelf. Partially visible is a seal between the cab slider and the shell slider. It's a soft rectangular doughnut made from black foam pipe insulation sealing the cab to shell. It allows the cab fan to slightly pressurize the shell area preventing dust infiltration.

Under the tailgate carpet is 1/2" "aircraft" grade plywood. Also between the plywood and the tail gate is a flap/strip of sheet plastic that seals the gate to the bed side helping with the anti dust effort.

Here, a piece of aluminum angle helps deter someone from manipulating the window latch cables to bypass the key lock.
