camper shell bed size measurements

what would the dimensions be for a camper shell to fit on a DCSB? found a few on FB marketplace for real cheap.

 

Best question to ask the seller - what vehicle did it come off of?

 

a chevy S10

 

It's not the physical dimensions alone - my Leer cap laps over the tailgate & bed sides. Doubtful that the S10 is a equal match to a Taco.
Others may know more than I, but if I couldn't do a trial fit before shelling out any $$, I wouldn't take the chance.

 

S10 wont fit i have a used sonoma, (same thing) and much different between rails and length

 

FWIW even a Tacoma 2Gen shell does not fit a 3Gen. The shape of the tailgate top (rounded on the 3Gen) makes the fit - unfit. Good luck on your quest to find a used one. I did for my 2Gen 2010, even the right color. When I traded trucks for my 2018 3Gen, I had grown so accustomed to have the cap, I went out and bought a new ARE right away and am very happy with it.

that 3rd gen looks so nice. I have the same color. looks like I’ll have to order one specially for the tacoma. everything I’ve see on FB marketplace has been too big
