Anyone done a military style camo paint job on their truck? How’d you do it, how much did it cost and how’d it turn out? Currently have a black truck, would like to paint it a matte green or tan.

3rd gens have come in tan and an army green, so while it's not matte, would at least give you a visual approximation.

Several people here in Utah I know of have gone with a rhino lining / bedliner type exterior paint. Downside they've quoted are weight mainly. That stuff gets heavy quick.

Other thing to keep in mind is a lot of the "tactical" trucks overseas were white or silver/grey. Still a lower vis option, but doesn't attract the same attention that a camo job tends to.

    Edit: or black sometimes

Check out post #1 on this link to see how matte green looks. I took the picture at the 2017 Portland Auto Show.

I always here this, but honestly, how many gallons of liner does it take. Let's assume an extreme of 5 gallons... imagine having 5 gallons of paint in the bed of the truck. It's insignificant. Now distribute that weight over the entire vehicle.

While sure, it's probably heavier than paint, your truck won't notice it.

I only recall seeing one 3rd gen camouflage truck...think it was some kind of Kryptek wrap.
I believe his screen name had "predator" in it; can't recall. Looked like a sponsored rig.

Keep it stock. Stay under the radar. The Army is starting to use vehicles in modern colors to blend in and not be noticed. Just came back from Poland and that country next to it. Even the Russians were painting their mil trucks normal colors 070509B9-FE1F-4541-A0E1-98D978B66EE5.jpg to not be noticed.

Are those speakers? Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of the camo?…. Unless it just plays animal calls

I was going to say, they look like wake boat tower speakers. :rockband: Aside from the color I like the stance of the truck. :anonymous:
