Got P0348 code today. I checked the sensor Drivers side upper sensor and the wire was cut. It looks like the loom was too tight and the three wires look cut at an angle. Has anyone else had that happen? So the next question is can I source the plug to the sensor. It cut right at the base of the plug and it doesn't look like I have enough to splice the wires.

It is that hardest sensor to get to and not much room to work. Any help is appreciated.

    Better check your sensor wires.

    Thanks

Anyone. If no one has a lead, then can I come over and look under your hood with a pair of wire cutters. :)

Honestly i just want to look. I ordered a generic connector off Amazon hoping it will work.

They don't sell the connector separately. The parts guy is trying to source it for me, I have had a rat chew wires before but this one is a cut. The loom is really tight and I just took it off road. On a side note I went up to the Cerra Gordo Mines out here out of Lone Pine and also Alabama Hills. Was a good trip, now dealing with this.

    Thanks

I’ve had my oil control valve wire break internally somewhere inside the harness behind the plastic loom cover on the firewall. There no way it could have been mice. I had to bypass it from the ECM to the OCV. I’m hoping no more break. It’s a pain to test the pins in the ECM and figure out issues like that.

you spend a lot of time in the floorboard.

I am willing to give it a shot, but I am not sure which sensor we are talking about? @5Sport Do you have a picture of the plug and location?

Here are some pics. I may have found a dealer that can source a replacement plug. My issue are the wires. The factory uses copper and the aftermarket one in this pic uses steel. Most times I don't care but this is one of those wires I would like to keep as close as possible to factory. It is the upper cam Position Sensor wire hidden under the manifold.

I believe it is Bank 2 upper Cam Position Sensor. The next trick will be making sure that I know how to properly inert the wires into the new connector if it is the right one. I hope it is plug and play.

Strip a few errands and Put them on a magnet. If it was me, I wouldn't be worried even a little bit, especially if you bought em from the dealer.
