My Cali raised cat shields have begun rattling a bit but only in reverse and it's really not that noticeable. It doesn't bother me but I could see how others may find it annoying. Just turn up the radio.

Miller Cat stainless for me - easy to install plus endorsed as an option from Toyota is a plus.

No rattles and piece of mind for the casual opportunist theft.

It's a little tricky balancing everything to get it into place initially, but if you're on the portly side I found you can balance it on your belly and move it up and down by expanding and contracting said belly :D

my take having installed miller (cali was not available at the time) and watching respective threads:

    miller reliable delivery time
miller does not rattle or touch cats
cali leaves access to front propeller zerks
    cali cheaper

if i had to do it again, i'd probably go with cali since zerk greasing is important for warranty and nice not to have to remove shield to do it.
i'd get creative making cali fit without cat touch or rattle...or wait til cali works that out.
...and cali is significantly cheaper which is a good thing.

^ @patos tacoma 's 2021 doesn't have zerks on the driveshaft, so I guess that's an easier decision for him

Miller SS because Toyo had it as their part, and hadn't joined TCW yet to know there were other options. Got mine in about 4 days, got 5% for ProtectMyTaco code.
Videos made it sound like threading those front 3 bolts was going to be a major PITA, I had zero issues, and I'm THAT lucky person who normally experiences EVERY DANG THING that could go wrong.
I do wish the Miller completely enclosed the cat so it wasn't visible at all.

I went with the Miller Cat because they are more well known and they’ve have been out longer, ease of installation and I feel it covers more of the undercarriage. You get what you pay for, the Miller Cat has a lot more material thus costing more. My opinion I feel some of the cat shields on the market have too many excessive holes. If anyone is interested I have a video on the Miller Cat Cat Shield : https://youtu.be/8Vsts1aFPCg

I got the millercat over caliraised. A couple reasons, caliraised still has fitmet issues or rattling, the front isn’t secured, and the lead time. Millercat is also sold by Toyota, its study and the design is way better. No need for vent holes or any concern with that because it doesn’t cover the actual cat, it just protects the section the thief would need to cut. No rattling or anything, plus it comes with keyed tamper proof torx.

even if it did have to come off for any reason, it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to take it off. It’s not meant to stop the theft, but it’s a deterrent. Most if not all thieves will see the shield and move in. They want to be in and out in less than a minute or two.

Hey guys dumb question, but here it goes. Do you think it could be possible to run both together the cali raised and millercat? Make it even safer. I am someone who worries because I do park outside and my truck is easy access to thieves.

That would be great but unfortunately you won’t be able to because the wings on the Miller Cat Cat shield are angled up in a way that it will interfere with the Cali raised shield. See pictures

I went with MillerCat because I liked the ventilation louvers.

I think they're both fine. Really, the only mistake is waiting too long to get one.

Millercat SS here. I've had it on the Taco now for almost a year, no issues, no rattles, and the installation went flawlessly.

I ordered one for my Tundra as well so I'm now a repeat Miller customer.

F**k those dirt bag CA tweakers that make this sort of stuff necessary.

I did the Millercat with winglets from the Talon Cat Shield. Probably overkill but I didn’t like half the cat being exposed

Millercat for me. I like the price point of the Cali Raised but no manual option.

I don't think they are necessaryo_O I also think they are going to over heat the converter. Never had a converter cut off of a vehicle and stolen my bias opinion. Some of them sure are nice looking.

They are stealing multiple catalytic converters EVERY SINGLE night on Long Island. You are lucky if you live somewhere that it’s not a concern or blissfully naive.

same in Denver, CO, even at the airport parking lot -- mine is garaged and I live in the suburbs, but it's piece of mind when I go on a road trip and have to park in a motel parking lot in another state
