Cabin air filter.....OEM or aftermarket?

Toyota filter or is there a better choice?

 

There were a few inputs on this subject in other threads (one of which I started) a few days ago. Do some searches. I think the majority was with the aftermarket ones. Better price and better performance in regards to flow and odor elimination. Amazon and Walmart were good sources.

I use a fram one with baking soda. I think now they added a scent, but I just like the baking soda, as an absorbent.

 

I use a k&N cleanable one. Use whatever the cheapest one is

 

I just got whatever AutoZone had it performed very well, whatever you get is going to be so much better than your old dirty filter, this one is a little over a year old.

 

This one about 5 years old, the filter before the one above.

 

I've used TYC, Ecogard, EPAuto. All seemed similar to OEM.
Right now I have a Bosch HEPA installed. It restricts the fan a bit, but hopefully the air is a little cleaner.

I'd use whatever one you can find easily.

 

Seriously dude? It's a damn cabin filter FFS. Just buy the cheapest one.

It's a cabin filter. It is not a critical component or life long commitment. This is like asking what kind of cereal should I have for breakfast...

 

I like the old standards oatmeal… I also make a mean Cream of wheat.

Granola / Muesli is always good.

Of the processed more sugary ones, I do like ‘Life’ cereal.

 

Switched to K&N cleanable filter for engine and cabin.

 

I purchased a hepa version but I am thinking k&n washable next time

 

I just shove an old t-shirt in there. Gives the truck a nice "earthy" smell and I feel good about repurposing versus throwing the shirt in the landfill.

 

Interestingly enough, this has me wondering what the best brand of facial tissue is . I don’t mind spending more for peace of mind. Or should I keep using my sleeve?

I keep seeing people mention here that they use a K&N cleanable cabin air filter... but when I check the K&N website, I don't see a cabin air filter for a 2021 V6.

 

Should be the same for a 2020. don't think there is any change in the area.
