Finally a simple bracket ,easy install. Very reasonable pricing. E-bay sellers offering free shipping, $25.00. To protect your tailgate from thieves ( it will slow them down. ) .

Yes if thieves have time and your tailgate is not lock, they wii still be able to remove your tailgate.

It is a very simple design. Cheap. I wonder if you can weld the bracket? Something to consider. Thanks to Chloe Kuo for sharing on her videos….

No, I just so happen see her YouTube video. I think that Defender Anti-theft device ,which can be found on E-bay for $25.00. Was something to share with people on this forum. I wish I have heard of this device early. I just use a stainless steel clamps like most of you.

I live in Hawaii. I have NO connection at all to Chloe. She does make great videos. She offers many ideas and products she use on her Tacoma .

Today’s women are pretty tough. My brothers daughter is a Diesel mechanic & Welder. She works on Buses, trucks and fork lifts.

Very true keeping the tailgate locked , helps.
Locking any vehicle doors is a “prevention” but not the cure.

Ever watch Tow truck drivers help people unlock there cars, most can unlock any vehicle within minutes.

    Seriously...its common sense.

What surprises me is how some will spend hours doing research for the most secure tonneau, and then spend big money on it, and leave the tailgate unlocked.

    Pure dumbassery...

Meh, not really. This idea works for catalytic converters because their so common, they will just move to the car next over. But honestly if someone is after your tailgate, they want that one specifically, they probably scoped you out, watched you walk into the store or know what house you park at, etc. A little do-dad that costs them an extra 20 seconds ain't gonna stop them. Just lock it always and hope for the best.

I don't know Chloe either, but like her videos. Her MillerCat video was helpful when I installed my shield. Chloe looks like she is in San Diego and tailgate theft might be higher in in California than other parts of the US.
