I was looking at this 94 Toyota Pickup with a 3.0 v6 that has around 104,500 miles. Do y’all think it’s a good idea to get this? I know that 104,000 miles is barley anything for Toyota’s but I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Also on the ad listing is says it’s selling for $2000 and the A/C doesn’t work on it.

Post the link to it. Hard to say without any pics or anything. $2k sounds like a really good deal on it but it could also be a scam.

1994 will not be a Tacoma, but simply a Pickup.

The 3.0 v6 is arguably one of the worst motors Toyota has ever made. It is plagued with head gasket issues (amongst others) and reliability issues as mentioned above.

While this may be a real truck for sale somewhere, the person attempting to sell it to you is not. I believe the way the eBay variation of this scam works is they send you a fake, but convincing looking eBay link that copies eBay's website design almost identically. You input your payment details, and you never see your money again.

I see this scam far too often, and it always has the same story.

If it's too good to be true, it is usually too good to be true.

Classic scam. I've never heard of an e-bay warehouse and the military thing is a common scam.

It did sound too good to be true! That’s why I decided to ask the forums because I know these trucks are worth atleast 5k or more especially one that look this nice.

Just posting this as a reminder.

This truck possibly has a very low reserve. And Barn Find readers aren't exactly the target buyers for a small Japanese truck.

Bidding is at $3900 with five hours to go.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
But auto 3.0 is a hard sell, it will be more of a dog than the 4cyl auto tacomas, they make even less power through that awful hydro trans

That's the combo the OP was considering.

Any decent small truck that can be had for under $5K is a buy, in my book.

OP, just a rule of thumb, if you are perusing CL or FB marketplace, any tacoma selling for under $3k that looks decent is a scam. Took me a long time to accept that, but it's true.
