This popped up while I was researching different caps. My heart was set on an alu-cab cap, but the BYND has piqued my curiosity. Aluminum or steel construction, and priced at only 3k. Seems like a solid deal but I can't find much info on the company.
Looks pretty solid in construction and design. I like the tapered and beveled edges. Makes it look pretty sleek. Kinda has a Jurassic park look to it which I dig.
    Includes standard:
    - Roof rack bars
    - Locks
    - Built in Molle/Honecomb panels on inside of door.

Edit: I take it all back. Didn't realize it was Chineseum. This thread can now function as a buyer beware warning if you come across potential drop shippers/re-sellers.

    Edit to my Original Post:
BYND is now facing a major lawsuit from RSI. It appears they willfully ignored a cease and desist for knocking off the design, so RSI is bringing civil charges for patent infringement seeking full reimbursement for the caps BYND sold and then some. This ought to be interesting.

Those are probably Chinese made caps bought in bulk from Alibaba.

Oh really? Didn't even know that was a thing. Hmm, that'd be a definite deterrent.

Interesting. Any non-sponsored reviews available on them? I tried to look but couldn't find anything. I'm willing to take a chance if I can find any info whatsoever on build quality. Also, there seems to be nothing about their actual weight rating for static/dynamic load capacity

Edit: Found that they claim it can carry a 300kg load, about 660lbs.

I'd sure as hell get it of alibaba for $750 instead of from BYND for $3k if you give it a shot.

There is also a shipping charge, but its still cheaper than BYND

The angular look doesn't match the styling of the truck.

This cap is hideous, exposed hinges and uni-strut cap rails..not sleek at all.

For a few more hundred, you can get an Alu-cab or a bit more and get a RSI.

You are going to be able to measure the service life of those hinges with a stop watch if you live in the rust belt.

honestly I would be lying if I said I would not have considered this route before the $3500 plunge on a RSI shell. Almost guaranteed to be less quality, but at a fraction of the price would be worth a 12 month gamble I feel. I am all about paying more for domestic products (which RSI is not... yet), but 4-5 times more is a lot. All that said, I love my RSI shell despite a little leaking-- its just that good.

Yeah I'm of the same mindset. But I'm sure after shipping fees it would probably be close to 1.5k. Which at that point, I don't want a subpar product or to play guinea pig. I'm going to keep saving for an alu cab

If shipping doubles the price, than absolutely. If they cook it into the product pricing (or at least some), call me a guinea pig haha

With all the other options available (and the customer support), I’ll double down and wonder why anyone would spend anywhere close $1500 for this Alibaba product and expecting any type of customer support, and longevity.
