    EDIT:
Unfortunately, I did not realize there was another much larger thread of this nature. Go figure I try and re-invent the wheel.

My hope is to keep this post updated with vendors and photos of high clearance rear bumpers. Both to learn who makes them and inform others. I am relatively new to the Tacoma scene and learning about all the different suppliers has taken some time.

I wonder which one is the best. Which ever one scores at top of:
    -lightest weight
    -strong enough
-best protection such as side hooks for fender
-cheapest, such as Coastal Offroad weld it yourself kit ($500)
    -looks good

Not sure if best is hidden hitch receiver, or protruding underneath so you can also mount a hitch skid.

swingout would probably be optional given justifying extra cost boils down to if an owner needs it and space constraints (single swings out farther than a double)
Not sure if it's better to get swingouts originally
or to grind the bumper bare and weld some on later on, because companies sell kits as standalone units that can be installed.

Probably not aluminum because of it's weakness, extra cost, difficult to weld, etc. not really justifying some weight savings

Though I do know what the worst is.

I have been searching for hours for the perfect bumper and finally stumbled across one that resembles my sketch down there. BUT I have no idea where I saw it. It was a high clearance bumper for a 3rd gen but it had this super beefy receiver on it. Anyone have any ideas? Hope my sketch makes sense.

ATH describes that setup, it's the first one in the list.

Yeah it could possibly be ATH but I dont see a top down view that shows that receiver with that "A frame" welded into the bumper.

If you have the picture that goes along with that sketch, please send it my way. Appreciate the response!

And my bad, just realized I'm in a 2nd Gen forum
