    Hey y’all!
I just bought my 2022 TRD OFFRAD Tacoma. I took off the chrome rear bumper caps and people are saying there are pins that I need to pinch in order to loosen the bumper to put new ones on. I can’t find those clips anywhere on my truck. Anyone who has experience replacing rear bumper caps on the newer tacomas please hit me up. I’m so lost.

I did this on my 23 too. Hated the chrome. If you got the caps off, you’re pretty much done. People say (and I agree) if you pop off the top part of the bumper still on it makes it easier to slide the caps in. It’s just an elbow grease thing, nothing to loosen or anything. This video helped me:

Best of luck! Looks way better without the chrome. Don’t pay someone to do this, it’s not a hard job at all. Seriously, if you got it off, that’s the hardest part with those alligator clips you need to beat…

I thought you were supposed to put the new bumper cap directly over the chrome one without removing it. Maybe I’m thinking of a different product.

Those are the “bumpershellz” which are an option too, but you can also just remove the chrome and paint yourself, or buy color matched caps. There’s a lot of solutions out there for this.
