My blinker stopped working today and when i pulled the tail light assembly out i found what i suspect to be the problem, that all 3 sockets/plugs are rusted as hell. Im guessing that the ground on the blinker socket was just the first one to lose connection.

Is it possible to remove the plugs from the tail light assembly and replace just those? I couldnt see a way to do it but figured I would ask before I went and dropped $50 on a new assembly.

The top socket is said blinker. The bottom is tail/brake. I tried to get the grounding point in there

you might be able to buy some replacement socket and pigtails from napa. they should have single and double wire setups, but you'll have to solder a ground.

napa ls6427, ls6464, and LS6446 might work. just depends if you think you can fit them into the back of the lamp assembly. some modification may be necessary.

for the amount of work involved with cutting and soldering and the time id probably be better off just buying one that has a wiring harness and plug and be done with it

Pretty much, yeah. I just don't know if any lamp assemblies actually come with the wiring harnesses

Yes, lamp assemblies come with the socket and harness. Aftermarket ones are pretty reasonable price wise

Well I reckon I'm gonna start looking online. It can never be just a burned out light bulb with this truck. I love it but damn she is difficult sometimes

About a year ago I got two complete taillights with sockets and bulbs for $45 (to the door) from eBay and then turned around and sold my excellent used OE taillight lenses on eBay for around $15 (after expenses)

Bottom line = Two completely new taillights for $30.

P.S....I did it since I could never trust my 20 y.o. turn signals, they would act up intermittently no matter how much I cleaned and scraped rust.
