Which bug shield is recommended for a 2021 trd off road tacoma. I am looking for no drilling involved. Thanks to all that reply.

I've had a Weathertech one on every vehicle I've owned. Never had any problems, even after years of New England winters and hot summers.
They bolt directly into existing holes under the hood.

They also make a low profile one that is affixed directly to the edge of the hood with 3M adhesive.

Imo, those bug shields don't do much except drop fuel economy. Had them on my older toyota extended cab 4wd pickups. I even ended up having a stone crack my windshield on one. I never remembered having to drill any holes to install them. Seems this ceramic glass coat works much better...bug spatters and small stones that have caused paint chips in the past trucks are history.

I think they are mostly for looks, I can't argue that they are actually functional.
As far as MPG, there's no way they create any observable difference.

I have is the one I have and I like it. I didn’t have one on my 2006 Tacoma and I had paint chips all over the front of the hood where the shield would be. No drilling at all, easy to put on, and looks nice.

Right. Where’s your data? And don’t do much? As is said above, I had paint chips all over the front of the hood on my 2006 and I didn’t have one. These paid chips were in the spot the shield would have covered. So, ok, it doesn’t do much.
My neighbor has the ceramic coating on his Ford and has paint chips and bugs all over after long trips.

You commute 65-70 mph to your job everyday after adding a bug shield, you'll notice a 1-2 mpg drop. I noticed it even worse when hitting days with strong head winds...those little 4bangers had to work harder.

Bugdeflector causes 1-2 mpg drop? No way.

Had them on all my trucks, no mpg drop and they really protect the hood and the windshield.

I have a Weathertech shield arriving tomorrow. Chose it because of the no drill and no tape installation. 6 screws and it's on.

For those of you with this shield, did you use the silicone dots? Not sure if I need them or not an if I don't I'd rather not stick something on the paint.

I have a WeatherTech, too. No fluttering or movement. I've taken it through high pressure car washes and had it on since April of 2020 with no issues.

Looking on Weathertech's website, for my 2017, it has two products. Stone & bug deflector and Hood protector. Same price, and look nearly the same. Can anyone explain the difference?

I have used the AVS (just like the weathertech above) and AVS Aero Skin. Both are no drill. Both protect against stone chips on the front of the hood. Both provide moderate protection for windshield chips. It all comes down the a matter of preference.

The stone and bug deflector mounts using screws that go into existing holes on the underside of the hood and does not touch the hood. The hood protector mounts directly to the surface of the hood using 3M tape.

Absolutely not. They are flexible but you'd have to be in a tornado for it to be moving around. Even if it did while driving normally, you would never notice it.

I think mine came with 4 total. I actually put two on but I have since regretted doing so. They are under the deflector and only visible when looking under it. But they are not necessary. They are meant to be a sort of buffer against the hood and deflector coming into contact when deflecting large objects.

Awesome thanks! Do tons of cross country road trips and I think a bug deflector make a huge difference.
