Just want to start a thread so people can post some good ideas for some mods that won’t break the bank. I’ve had my Tacoma for about 3 years now but I’m just now getting into adding on some stuff. Just painted the camper shell to color match this morning. Planning on adding a roof rack to the camper shell and getting a roof top tent here in the next couple of months.

Also just starting this so people can show off their trucks

Knowing how to properly ready the ice chest, and maximize cool time.

That's one of the cheapest mods I can think of.

Replace all the ball joints. Then start adding armor, spare parts (cv axles, nuts and bolts, ratchet straps and fluids) and a good two way radio. Not a CB

What are your plans for the truck?

Since you have the camper already, I recommend getting an SUV tent that attaches to the back of the truck. The newer ones are quick to set up and it gives you plenty of space to hang out in bad weather. Make the back of your truck into a sleeping platform. When you want to hit the trails, you can detach the tent, and go. Just mark where your tires were and back up to the same spot and re attach. Won’t cost as much as a roof top, tent, gives you more room, your center of gravity is not destroyed and you won’t drive around with it in the wind. 9E876725-61E4-49E1-88A4-7078A2D2B593.jpg

Watch out with the weight of the roof top tent and your camper shell’s weight capacity.

Floor mats are good makeshift traction boards.

Shovel for damn sure but that's a camping necessity anyway.

Some Velcro and interlocking mats for a nice flat area to set your coffee or beer and easy on the knee. There are some different thicknesses and I think I might go thicker. I use those mats in several applications.

Good tires, a shovel, a radio and hammock was all I had for overlanding for my first year or so.

Its just me most the time, if someone really wants to tag along I habe a sleeping bag for they can sleep on the floor(truck bed floor, not outside floor lol)

If I were you I would probbly buy a tundra and a 4 wheel camper, thats probably in my future

All you need are a CO2 bottle with regulator, a cooling plate that goes in an ice chest, and a tap for the keg, with spigot. We have used this sort of set up for years at our hunting lodge. No need to keep the beer cold, the plate will drop it right down to perfect temp for drinking. Never goes flat (within a few months anyway)
