    Hi everyone,
First I'd like to say, thank you to all the people who have supported us since we started in 1999, we couldn't have stayed in business for 18 years without you (and had a pretty good time doing it)! We have enjoyed helping bring your dreams into reality, and delivering the superior armor and accessories that not only give you the freedom to explore further and drive harder, but to bring you back home.

We have been gone from the forum for a long time, not because we wanted to, but are glad to be back.

Since we design everything in CAD, produce all our products in house, and can easily customize anything, while still maintaining the top notch engineering that has always been synonymous with BudBuilt products. It took us down a road of building very specialized custom vehicles.

It's been fun, it's challenged us, it's improved upon our designs, it's strengthened our building process, and it's taken us to move into a new massive shop, and set us up for an even more successful future. But we felt we were getting away from helping the people that couldn't come by the shop, that wanted to go out and have a great time offroad, with friends and family, and have the security to know that the trail won't damage their hard earned trucks.

It's exciting times for us, we are close launching a new website. We are getting back out to the offroad events and the trail rides. We are hiring more engineers and fabricators. We have refined our laser cutting process and can now produce aluminum armor at about 80% what it used to cost. We have worked with our shippers to offer cheaper rates on our largest and heaviest armor. All of which we will be passing the saving on to you with our new website. We are going to be offering more standard powder coating colors, as well as anything you could ever think of. And most of all, we have some new products on their way, unique to the industry with stronger designs.

Equally important, we are committed to offering the finest customer service to go along with our long standing reputation of BudBuilt armor. I'm an honest guy, and I'd be lying if I didn't say we going through some growing pains, which is a good thing. The future is definitely exciting.

Now to introduce myself, my name is Rob, and don't worry, Bud didn't go anywhere. I'm just handling the digital stuff. I'm a long time off-roader and builder, starting 15 years ago with my '96 regular cab Tacoma, and BudBuilt skid plates. I'm an Army Infantryman by trade and combat veteran, still on active duty. Whenever I was home, being stationed in North Carolina as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, I spent my time in the states driving to Bud's and making my Toyota's the best it could be. The BudBuilt Tummy Tuck is my favorite modification, nothing like having 4" more ground clearance under your transfer case, and the rock sliders being the lowest point on your truck. I recently moved back to the east coast, and started working with Bud on my newest project. We'll see where the future takes me. For now, being close to Bud, I have the opportunity to join in the fun. Helping others and learning new things, it makes for a pretty great life.

Bud is still doing his thing, as a longtime mechanical engineer with specialties in material science and failure analysis, he worked for over a decade as a design engineer. He has also worked in autocross and rally car world, then for another decade as manufacturing engineer, developing products and the processes to manufacture them. Well, when you have a guy like that building armor for a Tacoma, a lot more goes into it than what the normal industry can even think of. Plus, as most of you know, Bud is just the nicest guy around, and that is inspiring to be around.

Thanks for your time, and we hope to see you out there.

This pandemic has varying effects on all of us. I'm even letting those damn kids play on my lawn.
